CaribSea’s Arag-Alive!™

Only CaribSea’s Arag-Alive!™ Live Sands contains not just the broad spectrum of marine bacteria found in the ocean, but additional specially selected strains of marine bacteria as well. Arag-Alive!™ compresses new tank cycle time and suppresses the initial ammonia spike. Arag-Alive!™ creates a natural biological balance, and makes cycling a new aquarium faster and safer. Live rocks and most invertebrates can be added immediately. Gradually introduce fish within the first 3 weeks, and do not exceed one inch of fish per 5 gallons during this time.

Q
Is this grade of sand suitable for sand-sifting species?
I want a sand that will work for sand-sifting species but not get blown around by powerful currents. Will this work for both of these concerns?

A
This sand can be used with sand sifting species. The grain size is 1.0mm - 2.0mm so stronger currents would be fine as long as you are not blowing directly at the sand.

REVIEW
I was setting up my tank and needed some extra bacteria to help. I was using dry reef saver rock and bacteria in a bottle. I know this helped with my cycling. I needed like 3.5 20lbs bags to do the almost 2 inches in my tank.

REVIEW
I am new to saltwater and I was strongly encouraged to purchase live sand to help kick start me tank. Since I went with dry rock, I felt like this was a must. I was not disappointed! It looks good and I believe it helped cycle my tank quickly.

The included clarifier was nice too!

REVIEW
I added 10 pounds of CaribSea Reef Sand to my 10 gallon nano reef aquarium and everything in my tank stabilized within 24 hours. It did take 48 hours for the water to clear even after adding the water clear additive included with the caribsea sand. What a positive impact this sand has had on my reef...Read More
