Cleaning the inside as well as the outside of your aquarium are both important aspects of tank maintenance.
Brushes are one of the easiest ways to clean the inside of tubes and powerheads. They can be run through piping to clean out all the algae and gunk that has attached itself. Using a smaller brush can help clean out the impeller housing of a powerhead to keep the impeller spinning freely.
Water spots tend to be a problem on aquariums but with an aquarium polish you can help wipe them clean and help prevent them from coming back. Aquarium polishes are much safer than using window cleaner which could get in to your aquariums water.
We recommend the use of aquarium gloves whenever you are handling liverock. Liverock can contain organisms (corals, bristleworms, etc..) that can sting you causing rashes or skin irritation. Additionally with some of the sharp edges you are at risk of getting scrapped or cut from your rock. Heavy duty gloves
can help prevent this.Thinner gloves
are highly recommend to be used when fragging corals, in particular zoo's or paly's
. These corals contain palytoxins that can be extremely harmful. Don't learn a lesson the hard way, protect yourself when fragging!
