CoralVue 175 Watt Electronic Metal Halide Ballast

CV1511

This item has been discontinued.

CoralVue This ballast will power any metal halide 175W bulb. It does not over-drive the bulb, so output will be at the bulb manufacturer`s specifications. By using a constantly changing, very high frequency, the ballast will light any bulb without flicker. Longer bulb life and other features makes this the best ballast for all metal halide applications. Does not come with Molex connector. 4" wire leads included.

CoralVue uses its unique, patented operating system, which allows you to save energy without compromising light output. By applying lower voltage across the lamp, energy consumption is reduced and lamp life is expected to be increased.

CoralVue Aquarium Supplies
CoralVue, founded in 2002, provides high-quality aquarium lighting at prices any hobbyist can afford. The company was formed by David D’Aquin, an underwater video and lighting expert who has teamed with commercial divers, the U.S. Navy and National Geographic on a variety of projects. D’Aquin took his knowledge of lighting and electronics and focused these passions on creating products for the aquarium industry. In just a short time, CoralVue pioneered the development of the 400-watt double-ended metal halide bulb and the unique color temperature spectrum of ReefLux metal halide bulbs. CoralVue also develops high-quality electronic metal halide ballasts to power their bulbs. They offer ballasts in single, dual, triple and dimmable lamp models. To compliment their line of lighting products, CoralVue entered the protein skimmer and calcium reactor market in 2004.

REVIEW
I've had issues with Lumatek ballasts barely lasting just over a year. Given the reviews I switched to the CoralVue and so far so good! It fires up the bulb quickly and doesnt make a sound. I only wish it came with the little rubber tabs for the mounting plate to give it a bit of space underneath fo...Read More

My only issue was that I needed to hard wire the output connection to the lamp, as there is no plug style connection. No big deal from most, but for me that means I need to unwire anytime I need to remo...Read More

REVIEW
No Complaints, does what a ballast is suppose to do. Does a much better job of driving the bulbs than my old ballasts that came with the light fixture. You get what you pay for in this hobby. Buy quality first that way you don't have to turn around and buy again.

CoralVue 250 Watt MH Ballast

REVIEW
Other than having to hardwire the output to my Coralife bulb the ballast is working perfectly. Compared to the other two Metal halide bulbs which are powered by Coralife ballasts this CoralVue ignites the bulb much faster and smoother.
