Seachem SeaChem Cupramine ™ effectively eradicates ectoparasite of both freshwater and marine fish. It has all the advantages of copper sulfate and chelated copper, but not the disadvantages. Like copper sulfate, it is fully ionic and effective at low concentrations. The cupric (Cu+2) charge is fully active. Like chelates, it is safe for fish and is not precipitated in the filter bed. Unlike both, there is more than a 4x concentration gap between the minimal therpeutic dose and the toxic dose. Unlike copper salts, it is stable in the aquarium, and, unlike chelates, it is easily removed by chemical filtration. Unlike other copper products, it is both highly effective and safe in freshwater as well as marine water. It does not damage the filter bed. Cupramine™ contains 10,000 mg/L of copper and 100 mL treats over 500 gallons. Do not use in conjuction with ParaGuard™. Test for copper with our MultTest: Copper™ kit. Marine or freshwater use.

Caution: Turn off your UV sterilizer while treating with Cupramine. UV will break up the ionic bond in Cuprimine; causing it to be much more toxic.

Q
Can I use this in my display tank with my corals, and anenomes?

A
This is for treatment of fish parasites in a quarantine tank. Adding copper to your system will kill your invertebrates. Here are usage instructions: Remove all invertebrates. Turn off UV sterilizer; remove chemical filtration. Use 1 mL (top mark of enclosed dispenser) per 40 L (10.5 gallons*) the first day, wait 48 hours, then repeat for a total dose of 0.5 mg/L (in freshwater, use half dose). Leave at this concentration for 14 days. Do not redose without testing (MultiTest: Copperâ„¢). Do not use in conjunction with any other medication. If tank has ever been treated with an ionic copper (e.g. copper chloride, sulfate or citrate), test copper level after initial dosing. Although most fish tolerate Cupramineâ„¢ to 0.8 mg/L, it is not advisable to exceed 0.6 mg/L copper. Remove with carbon or CupriSorbâ„¢.

Cupramine Works

REVIEW
I am still treating my DT, but there is no signs of any ick. The product works as stated, and is safer than copper for the fish. I will be treating for 28 days which is the optimum length that I have read in some articles. This makes sure that any cysts that hatch are eliminated. I was using Paragua...Read More

Fish stopped eating.

REVIEW
I used Cupramine on my large Queen Angel. Fish slowly stopped eating the second day dosing (I did half dose increments). At 0.5ppm, fish looked & acted normal but refused to eat. After 3 days of no eating, I decided to perform a 50% water change and added activated carbon. By the next day the Qu...Read More

I've used this in a FOWLR tank with LR and LS (which isn't the recommended method of treating fishes) but I didn't have a big enough tank to QT 3 triggers/2 angels/3 tangs/8 chro...Read More

REVIEW
I think this is a great product. It's easy to use and 100% kills ich, which is what my intentions were for it. All it takes is two weeks of monitoring your copper levels with an appropriate test kit. I used Seachem's copper test kit and had no problems. Two weeks later, my fish are all ich free and ...Read More

REVIEW
I've been using this product, exclusively, to treat all my new fish which have been exposed to ich. It works well, and I haven't had any signs of the parasite since I started treating my fish with it 6 years ago.
