Ammonium Chloride Solution for Fishless Cycling 4oz - Dr. Tim`s Aquatics
No need to do the "Damsel" method in cycling your tank, because we find out just how hard it is to get them out of the tank once our aquascape is where we want it, and our tank is done cycling. No need to add dead matter, like frozen shrimp or fish food, making the water smell foul. This Ammonium Chloride Solution bottle is a reagent grade ammonium chloride made for the sole purpose of fishless cycling.
Generally, during a fishless cycle, one needs to add ammonium chloride to their tank 3 or 4 times so this bottle is enough ammonia to cycle aquariums up to 200 gallons.
Specifications:
Bottle size = 4 ounces (118 ml)
Dose 4 drops (.2 ml) per gallon of aquarium water
Concentration is 50 mg/L of total ammonia-nitrogen (TAN)
Use with One and Only Nitrifying Bacteria
Conversion Table:
(1 Drop = 0.05 ml)

NOTE: As of November 1, 2016 Dr. Tim`s changed the concentration of the ammonium chloride solution so it now takes 4 drops per gallon. The previous version called for 1 drop per gallon. Please see the label on your bottle to determine how much to use. If the bottle say use 1 drop use 1 drop if the bottle says use 4 drops use 4 drops.

Did a complete teardown on my tank for a restart. I used this to kick off the cycle. It worked great. I'd recommend using an inexpensive API test kit with this - only way to really know how your cycle is progressing, and to check that you are dosing the correct amount of ammonia. I also used Dr. Tims one and only and never got the tank to cycle(75 gallon 4x75=300 drops.) At the level of ammonia it killed all the bacteria in a 16 oz bottle. A waist of $90.00. It does work as described dut you need to use less than instructions this is why the 3 stars.Hide
