Manufacturer information

AquaMaxx
AquaMaxx is a Southern California-based aquarium supply company that entered the market in mid-2008 with a line of affordable metal halide bulbs. Filters great

Pros: Washable, reusable, cut to size

Cons: Clogs quickly

This filter pad works very well and I love that it can be cut to sized and then washed and reused just like a filter sock.

Simplest way of mechanical filtration

Pros: Cheapest way of mechanical filtration. Reusable.

Cons: Clogs quickly & need to clean periodically.

Makes tank water crystal clear by trapping most of the particles from water. Only reason I’m not giving 5 star as it clogs quickly. I only use it after cleaning the tank.

Effective

Pros: Effective and cheap

Cons: Can cause skimmer to overflow

I use this in my filter cups with another filter pad. Works great and keeps the water very clean. I would rinse it really well because when i dont my skimmer overflows but happens less than filter socks

Crystal Clear Water

We use the Pureflo in the sump of our 600 gal indoor tank and it really keeps the water clear. My husband recently enlarged our sump tank, and now the material sizes available are either too large, causing waste to cut down, or too small, requiring small strips to be cut to cover the gap...inconvenient, but doable. When changing the material we wash off the dirty pieces with the hose, then wash it in the washer using hot water, no soap! Great product!
