AquaMaxx FC Series In-Sump Protein Skimmers efficiently remove organic waste from aquarium water. Introducing a bevy of new features focused on precision control, high performance and appealing aesthetics, the FC series skimmers are just another example of how AquaMaxx provides hobbyists with the best protein skimmers for the money.
HIGH PERFORMANCE
The core of AquaMaxx protein skimmers is the high-quality Shark needle wheel pump. The Italian made Sicce brand pumps are modified by AquaMaxx to produce optimal size bubbles for highly efficient protein skimmer. These pumps have been powering AquaMaxx skimmers since the very beginning because of the long lasting and quiet operation combined with quality construction.
First introduced with the ConeS series skimmers, the FC skimmers contain the highly efficient bubble chambers that feature custom diffusors to reduce turbulence and create a stable laminar flow inside of the skimmer which helps get more waste out of your aquarium.
SUPERIOR DESIGN
FC skimmers utilize a one-piece acrylic body which is molded into a beautiful wine glass shape. The shape is what smoothly guides and condenses the foam inside the skimmer for effective removal of waste via the collection cup. Furthermore, the specially designed dome on the collection cups reduce resistance as the foam rises and falls into the collection cup for maximum waste removal.
AquaMaxx has included both a highly sensitive gate valve type outlet and the first ever adjustable air silencer which gives you precise control over the foam level inside of your skimmer.
Computer-precision engineered and outfitted with the latest filtration technology, AquaMaxx protein FC series protein skimmers will deliver the performance and value you are looking for in a skimmer.

Great skimmer with small footprint
Pros: Small foot print , well built , quiet operations and reasonable cost
Cons: Assembly instructions
My skimmer compartment is limited and this fit my needs. Instructions not the greatest but overall it was easy to assemble, well built and quiet. So far so good.

Works well but doesn’t hold up
Pros: Performance
Cons: Durability
Works well I’ve owned for 1 year and it pulls all kinds of nasty stuff from the water. Don’t use cup handle plastic is thin and mine got a hairline crack. Also maintenance is hard you have to unscrew a bunch of screws from the bottom which require a screwdriver and I actually ended up losing one of them. Lastly one of the rubber feet fell off and I lost that and need to order a new one. Durability not the best but it does preform well.

A Good Skimmer
Pros: Easy set up, Good price, Quiet
Cons: The only con for this skimmer is that a few times when I plugged the skimmer in the pump refused to start, but it worked after I disassembled and reassembled the pump.
It works wonderfully and has improved the quality of my reef tank, though this is the first skimmer I have owned.

Efficient Skimmer
Pros: Packed with Great Features, Exceptional Over-All Quality
Cons: I get to spend more time doing something else 😁
Great product, awesome design, best functionality and works efficiently.
The Aquamaxx brand has exceeded every expectations I had with acrylic products, quality and features seems to come first and following it is it’s affordability and life-long service life.
Utilized a Powerful pump (Sicce Shark) and easy to clean.
Nothing beats precise engineering at a fair price!!!

Efficient and Whisper-Silent
Pros: Good Price, Awesome Product
Cons: As with all protein skimmers, needs time to fine tune for better performance
I’m very happy I made the decision and had chosen the Aquamaxx FC-120 in-sump protein skimmer! Although there are similar skimmers out there that would perform as well but you can’t beat the price for a well designed reef tool. Besides, it suits my Trigger Triton 44, their colors blend well together. One thing about the FC model is it’s simplicity and over all function,

Piece of Poorly made junk
Pros: None
Cons: Everything
This thing skims decent but it’s down fall was all the broken parts. Had it 13 months. Nipple on the hose by the pump intake broke off. Then the nipple by the air adjustment broke off, the dome on the top of the collection cup snapped off, and finally the pump quit today. Total piece of junk and I own 4 Aquamaxx Skimmers. The FC line is junk. Don’t buy it.

Great all round skimmer
Pros: Easy Set up and does what it says its going to do
Cons: buble plate needs to be fixed to the pump to stop it from moving
I have been using this skimmer for over 9months now and just moved it to a new 120 gallon system ( previous 75 gallon system) This skimmer is easy to put together and is pretty quite the only thing i didn't like was the floating bubble plate. it should be the same as the FC-280 and have the collar and screw to attach it to the pump as it can move about when in use. Produces an amazing amount of skimmate and ha turned out to be pretty reliable

Good Skimmer
Pros: Price is #1 Good skimmer overall.
Cons: Packaging
I have had it one week and so far it’s a good skimmer. Still working on the water level the skimmer sits in. I started at 8 inches now I am at 8.6. See how it goes.
Build quality is a 4. Pretty solid. Pump seems well matched and sicce makes great pumps. The gate valve is pretty cool and exact. A little wobbly though. Could be a tighter fit which would make it more exact in the adjustment inside the skimmer. The cup design is cool. I appreciate Aquamaxx trying new designs. The bulb design on the lid would be cool for an open sump to look down into the skimmer from the top. But under the tank you can’t enjoy it from the side. The cups I wish could hold more nog. Smaller than I would like to see. The handle is good to hold while cleaning. A good idea. The rubber feet are kinda implanted into the base which is good because it keeps them from coming off and throwing the skimmer off balance. I like the screws used. We’ll see if they rust at all over time. Air silencer adjustment is good also. I just keep it slightly pinched. I gave 4 stars because the unit was a little messy in the box from shipping. The Venturi was damaged and broke a air nossle off. I glued and and used it till MD sent me a new one. Overall nice product. It’s on a 65 gallon sps Frag tank housing lots of high end pieces. This is my 3 Aquamaxx skimmer. And I would def. it again.

Great Skimmer
Pros: Quite, not much of a break in period, easy to assemble and operate, and great price point.
Cons: Instructions arent very detailed and says different water level from what website says.
So far the skimmer has been great. I have had it for a week and is pulling gunk quite nicely. I have it set at 9 inches. Instructions say 8-7 inches but website says 8.6. I plan on setting it at that height in a couple of days and tune it from there. Easy to assemble. Quite as well. Great skimmer.
