Great for use with Carbon, GFO (such as TwoLittleFishies Phosban, AquaMaxx Phosphate Out, D-D ROWAphos)

Great if you like replacing floors and mopping up water

Pros: Cheap and small

Cons: Leaks

Just like the Aquamaxx carbon reactor, this thing dumped water all over my floor. It leaked from the top of the top plate where the barb enters it. I suggest you avoid Aquamaxx unless you really want to replace your floor.

Good reactor, bad pump

Pros: reactor is good quality

Cons: pump is low quality

The reactor is a great product, but the pump that it comes with is very cheap. I would recommend not going with the package and buying a separate pump with the price difference.

Great!

Pros: Being able to move the input and output elbows is the best thing.

Cons: Pump over powered

It works great, as most have stated pump is a bit strong but works just fine.

Great

Solid build. Works great with GFO. MAKE SURE you get a ball valve with this. As others have stated the pump is too strong and the “flow control” really does nothing. My only reason not giving it 5 stars.

HOB Algae Reactor

Pros: Quality, small footprint

Cons: Tubing does not fit sung on the pump or the inlet/outlet of the reactor

Using this product as a HOB algae reactor on an IM Nuvo 38 gallon. It's a perfect size for a HOB application on a smaller tank. The pump is small enough to fit in one of the back chambers of the tank as well. The flow from the pump is ample for an algae reactor. Build and quality exceed expectation!
