The latest in BioPellet Reactor design from AquaMaxx. The unique flow pattern of the Omega helps to keep the biopellets in suspension, creates a gentle tumbling and eliminates clumping. The low pressure design also allows for the use of an energy-efficient pump and helps extend pump life. Maintenance requirement is also greatly reduced by the convenient filling port.
Controlling nutrients inside our aquariums is one of the keys to preventing nuisance algae growth. The AquaMaxx Omega BioPellet Reactor is a finely-tuned fluidized filter designed to help hobbyists remove nitrates and phosphates from reef aquarium systems.
AquaMaxx Omega biopellet reactors are computer designed, precision-cut and made of polished A-class acrylic. All AquaMaxx media reactors are rigorously tested to ensure reliability, efficiency and affordability.
Adding a biopellet reactor to your reef aquarium filtration system will improve the water quality for fish and other marine life. Biopellets initiate a more efficient denitrification process that removes nitrate and phosphate from aquarium water to prevent algae growth or harm to invertebrate and coral.
The AquaMaxx Omega BioPellet Reactor also includes a high-quality Sicce Syncra pump. The Italian-Made Sicce pump is quiet, energy-efficient and durable. This reactor and pump combination offers hobbyists unparalleled performance and reliability.

I had a phoshate level of 33 mgL before getting this biopellet reactor. Make sure you soak your pellets for 24 hrs like instructed in the manual. After 24 hrs of run time my phoshates dropped from 33mgL to 8 mgL. Truely AMAZING!

The only Minor Critique would be to place a larger Handle on the Fill Port, so it could more easily be removed to fill. I find myself utilizing a scotch bright pad to assist with the grip. Works as advertised, effective. Easiest maintenance/biopellet add, capabilities - Hands Down Sweet Unit. My old MR1 Boipellet reactor is now running GFO and the other is Denitrate and Carbon. My 150 gallon sysyem is loving it. I love the convenient maintenance. Love it!! Love It!! - It feeds the Aquamaxx protien skimmer. Thank you Aquamaxx!!!Hide

The AquaMaxx Omega-2 BP Reactor is an interesting new design. The product looks well built and the pump is very quiet. I purchased this product for my 300 gallon reef over the standard AquaMaxx reactor, even though it's more expensive, because I believe the circular design will eliminate the major problem of clumping. With 1/4 cup of media the pump was spinning them so fast that it just looked like a white blur. The media hasn't slowed after two weeks of constant use, but more media would have to be added to fully test the capability.
The reactor has a good footprint and fits well inside of the sump. I like the top feed plug, but be sure not to open it while the pump is running or media will exit the reactor. The water inside of the reactor exits through the black hole in the middle and does not have a spout to plumb the effluent into the protein skimmer. The exit fits 1/2" PVC plumbing and you can easily adapt a 90 degree elbow and fit it with a 1/2" tubing connector. Do not cement the PVC into the outlet.Hide

This reactor is innovative as well as aesthetically pleasing. I have used 4 other reactors in the past and this one out performs them all in media tumbling, ease of use and quality. The Sicce pump is dead silent. The visibility into the reactor and the circular flow of the media ensure that you will never have dead spots. It is a bit large for a reactor but, if you have the space in your sump for it - I highly recommend it!Hide
