AquaMaxx Pukani rock is a 100% naturally collected from the ocean and is popular because of the interesting structure. It is very lightweight and typically comes in larger pieces when compared to other naturally collected rocks. This makes it easy to create large, impressive aquascapes without having to stack multiple rocks together. Because the rock is sun dried before it ships, it is free of live pests and hitch-hikers commonly found on naturally collected living rock.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

  • 100% naturally collected from the ocean
  • Extremely porous and lightweight
  • You get more volume per pound than living rock
  • Natural pores aid in biological filtration, water circulation and provide hiding places for fish and invertebrate
  • Available in 2 box sizes: 10 lbs., and 25 lbs.
This rock may contain dead organisms; it is highly recommended that you cure the rock before use in a living aquarium.

Please Note:

  • Rock is weighed before shipment, containing 10 lbs or more. However, depending on rock size, density, original moisture content, etc. the total weight after delivery may be less in some cases.
  • Each box will contain a variety of rocks of different sizes and shapes.
  • We are unable to take any special requests for rocks of a particular dimension or size.
  • Due to the fragile nature of this rock, it is possible for the rock to break during shipment. We do our best to package the rock sufficiently to minimize damages. As UPS does not consider this item insurable, we are unable to replace or refund damaged pieces. It is possible to attach multiple pieces together using aquarium epoxy in order to make large shelves or repair damaged rock.

I can tell you that you will get a decent amount of rock. I ordered the 25lbs and I'm very happy. The rock is lighter than your standard dry rock.

Q
What is the actual size of the pieces?
Do they come in smaller sizes or just a large chunk?

The size of the rocks will vary greatly because they are natural rocks. You are able to break these rocks into smaller pieces if you would like. I break rocks outside on a tarp with a hammer and chisel for precision and easy clean up.

The rock is shipped with styrofoam and arrived in good condition. It is highly pourous with many interesting shapes. 35 pounds for a 30 long was more than sufficient. Like with any dry rock, you will need to take some time to leach out the phosphates. This is by far the nicest rock I have ever p...Read More

I would just like to compliment MD for the Dry Rock. I got some very nice pieces in my box. Very cool interesting pieces as if the MD staff was picking rock for their own tank. What really surprised me is that the box was insulated with foam and that brown packing paper. So my rock was secure and d...Read More

REVIEW
Where to start... Well first off, this rock is extremely porus. I had a set up running a few years back and used Fuji dry rock and used that to gauge my need for my new nano 20 build. I ordered the 25lb box on sale and only used a little over half of it (~15 lbs). Needless to say I had a lot of extr...Read More
