AquaMaxx Reef Welder is a new and superior alternative to 2-part epoxies and other reef glues. The plastic pellets have a melting point of 140ºF/62ºC and can be reused over and over again. When melted, the pellets fuse together and become transparent and soft. Once it cools, it becomes opaque* and hard, yet flexible.

*Reef Welder - Purple includes a mix of white and purple pellets. When mixed, it will blend to a purple-pinkish color to better blend in with the coralline algae in your aquarium.

As Reef Welder is 100% non-toxic, it does not affect your aquarium`s water chemistry and will not cause your protein skimmer to overflow. Perfect for gluing reef rock together or for attaching corals to your rockwork. It is also biodegradable (in soil conditions).

Made in England (UK) with ultra-high purity materials.

Directions
  • Mix Reef Welder pellets in hot water (does not need to be boiling hot).
  • Soak the pellets for 2 minutes or until all the pellets have become clear.
  • Carefully remove fused pellets and mold/knead by hand.
  • Apply resin to surface and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Reef Welder will harden as it cools.

Yes, I would recommend this.

Works but...

Pros: Good bonding

Cons: Its had to make it work

It works perfect but the cooling down is too fast and you may need to reheat again and again.

When you make it to work successfully, the bod is strong. I have created a nice arc with this and its pretty nicely holding it.

Not good

Pros: When it works, it was ok.

Cons: Instructions not clear.

Says “hot” water, should say “boiling” water. Waste of money for me. Poured extremely hot water in the bowl, nothing happened for 10 minutes. Tried boiling water, that started to turns things translucent. When I tried to meld some rocks together, some stuck, some didn’t. Not all the beads turned translucent. Please learn from my mistake and boil the water. The aquarium silicone I got from HD worked fine.

I disliked

Pros: Mold pretty easily

Cons: Does not stick. Cools very quickly. It is basically plastic beads.

I personally dislike this product. Gel super glue is way way better! It would probably work if you used a lot at one time. Not worth it to me

Does what it says

Pros: Ease of use, Value for money, Low Mess

Cons: Didn't try this sooner!

I cannot express how convenient and hassle free it was working with this product. When it's heated it's incredibly pliable and allows you to spread into all sorts of nooks and crannies in rock-work. It dries and starts to harden again within 5 to 10 minutes so have a good idea of what and how you want to attach something. Using this product I was able to 'meld' a bunch of large pieces of CarribSea Life Rock together to the the stacking height I was looking for. I was amazed how well it holds it together and I couldn't be happier. The purple color blends in nicely and I'll have to see how it lasts once placed in my new tank. We'll see how the algae growth goes!

The water doesn't have to be boiling, but used a tea kettle to heat a large quantity of water and then poured that water into a smaller bowl with the Reef Welder as I went. Worked like a charm.

Works good

Pros: Works as advertised

Cons: None

I was impressed with this product. It was very easy to work with. No mess. And it did a great job of securing my rock together. I did lots of arches and overhangs and after letting it dry I was able to pick up 30 lb rock structure as if it was one piece. Colors blended well with purple rock.

Works well. Maybe a bit unnatural and not really sticky

Pros: Easy to use, strong joints

Cons: Unnatural color, not really sticky

Works very well on dry rock to form a kind of mold to hold rock in place. Doesn't really stick to the rock in my experience though, more used to mold around to form a sleeve style joint
Once it hardens it does seem to hold well and its very easy to mold
You can heat it back up to reuse!
Color may be a bit unnatural looking so be aware of where you use it

Great stuff

Great product. Easy to use and even reuse when you change your mind. Once it’s cooled - it’s solid! Happy I took a chance on this one.

This Is Not Epoxy

Pros: Easy to work with, does not stick to your hands (or anything else)

Cons: Worthless as a glue, way too short working time.

This is a plastic with a very low melting point, not a glue. Tried to glue two pieces of clean, dry rock together and it did not work. Nice idea but worthless.
