AquaMaxx Tonga Shelf rock is a 100% naturally collected from the ocean and is perfect for mounting corals in a reef aquarium. The flat shape makes it easy to attach frags and corals and creates a very natural looking aquascape with ledges and shelves. Because the rock is sun dried before it ships, it is free of live pests and hitch-hikers commonly found on naturally collected living rock.

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

  • 100% naturally collected from the ocean
  • Flat shape makes it easy to create ledges and shelves
  • Porous and lightweight
  • You get more volume per pound than living rock
  • Natural pores aid in biological filtration, water circulation and provide hiding places for fish and invertebrate
Please Note:

  • Rock is weighed before shipment, containing 25 lbs or more. However, depending on rock size, density, original moisture content, etc. the total weight after delivery may be less in some cases.
  • Each box will contain a variety of rocks of different sizes and shapes.
  • Some flat plates may contain a small base. They may not be completely flat as shown in the stock images.
  • We are unable to take any special requests for rocks of a particular dimension or size.
  • Due to the fragile nature of this rock, it is possible for the rock to break during shipment. We do our best to package the rock sufficiently to minimize damages. As UPS does not consider this item insurable, we are unable to replace or refund damaged pieces. It is possible to attach multiple pieces together using aquarium epoxy in order to make large shelves or repair damaged rock.

A
If you are setting up a new tank it does not have to be cured. This will help cycle your tank. If you are adding to an existing system, we would recommend curing it prior to use.

REVIEW
I ordered flat pieces of dry live rock as I have had bad experiences with hitchhikers, especially crabs, with wet live rock. I am using reef cement to build overhangs and platforms with the rock.
