Siphons & Gravel Cleaners for Aquariums

Want to know how to clean fish tank gravel? Aquarium sand or gravel gets dirty quick. An aquarium siphon has a long plastic cylinder attached to aquarium tubing. Some gravel cleaners have a priming bulb, while others require you to suck air from the tube to begin the siphon. The siphon tube is then used to stir up the gravel, pulling up waste as water is removed for a water change. This ensures the dirtiest water is leaving the tank every water change. Regularly cleaning the substrate helps reduce algae and toxins. For marine fish tanks, be sure to only disturb a think layer of the substrate.

The Python No Spill system incorporates a gravel siphon and water change system to allow for easy freshwater aquarium water changes.

You might also be interested in an electronic aquarium gravel vacuum that allows you to clean substrate without a water change.
