DI cartridge

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Terrible design

If I could give this less than a 1 I would. How am I supposed to see the color change if it’s in a white tube? The company should use common sense standards when making the product. The instructions clearly say change the cartridge when the resin color changes completely . How am I supposed to see that if it’s in a white tube?

Works pretty well

Pros: Works well. Color change is clear

Cons: Lid breaks easy (Or I'm just way too strong).

I have no issue with the product's function, as it does what it's supposed to. The only issue I've had was when I replaced the media, I tightened down the cap and it cracked all the way through the top, making it more or less useless. So just be careful with that...

Excellent for small scale use

As for somebody who currently works for a very well known reef store, this RODI unit works very well if your doing small scale tanks. Everything depends on the quality of the water and how slow do you let the water stay in the filtering processes. I tun mine slow so i get the purest of water and it does exhaust the filters quicker. If you need more output i wouldn't use a small scale RODI, but since I'm only running a 30 gallon tank (evaporates a bit less than a gallon a day) it works perfectly. It makes it easy with quick disconnect cartridges. The worst part would be changing the DI resin. There is no need to get a big unit for a small set up like I do!

Excellent resin performance

I'm using this along with the Aquatic Life 50gal/day RO Buddie system and Smart Buddie booster pump. So far I've had the system in place a little over 4 weeks. A typical amount of resin has turned red from processing about 400+ gal of product water thus far. Very pleased overall!

Ehh

The 3 stars are for the job that it does but that's it. I can't get any more than 100 gallons out of each one. I think I'm going to have to upgrade my RO system

Simple and easy

That's about it: simple (to hook up) and easy (to read [when needs to be changed again]). The RO Buddie overall isn't going to compare to a $400-$500 RO machine, but that's just it: get what You pay for. But I worked at a high quality fish store (saltwater = 70% of the store's market) last Summer/Fall where I first learned of this; then, when I moved out of my own and no longer had my Father's nice Maxxima RO machine from 12-13 years ago, I had to spend within my means, and this fit the bill. Ten months now, and it runs great!! :) Eighty-dollar machine + $40 DI cartridge is worth every penny. Kudos to AquaticLife!

DI filter

No need to buy this filter again after the DI resin is used up they sell bags of resin that you can refill the filter with. I got mine from the company that makes the unit for the same price and they said it would be enough to refill the filter 4 or 5 times. It was a bit of a pain to take apart but your saving money so worth the effort. This store sells bags of resin as well. This was the hardest filter to change out of all 4 and even this one wasn't that bad. Over all good RO/DI unit and well worth the money.
