ATI

Fantastic quality and performance. Got into the hobby 2 years ago and bought LED's. Long story short T5 is the way to go. Growth and colors are noticeable in just a few weeks from switching over.

ATI Sun Power

Solid device, well put together. Seems to be well worth the price. I mounted this unit to the ceiling with the enclosed kit and it adds a nice "Finished" look to the family room.

Pretty Good

I've had the 6x80 light for 2 weeks now. It's definitely a quality product. Very heavy, sturdy, high quality materials. Pros: Sleek attractive design Customizable bulb choice (as with any t5) It puts out good light but not great light for 210 gallon tank (this is supplemental light in addition to 5 Kessil A150Ws. W/ half SPS and half other corals. Bragging rights It runs silent and cool Adjustable hanging kit Cons: The price is ridiculous even for a high quality light like this. No bulbs are included (add $150 to fixture cost) Unless you buy 6 bulbs expect to pay a very hefty handling fee for the bulbs It's made in Germany LFSs aren't usually going to carry 80 watt bulbs Acrylic shield instead of high quality glass Not water tight (prior wavepoint fixtures were) ONLY hanging kit included, no legs or stand Pain to hang (requires buying brackets for wall mounting or drilling into ceiling) Summary: It's a good fixture that puts out excellent light for a tank within the size limits ATI recommends. It is overpriced by about $200 because bulbs are not included. Quality construction.

The best

One of the reasons I picked this light was many of my favorite tanks on the internet had this light in common. Amazing color in those tanks. When people come over they always comment that I have nice color. I thought about going the Radium/T5 route but this was a great compromise for heat. I wanted a little more color pop like the LEDs with UV so I mounted an LED strip on the side. Now I have that really cool fluorescence the neat LEDs have. I have the 8X80W version. Another option I thought of was add two LED strips to a smaller Sunpower. You could have a daylight LED for shimmer and Actinic strip on the other side for the BLue/UV. Another thing I like with this light is an even light all across the tank with no shading. Build quality is typical German .. top notch. I love the hanging kit. I can raise and lower the light very easily. I am running 5 blue+,2 coral + and 1 Purple +. Love that combo. 24" Tall 6' tank. SPS dominant. Less light demanding SPS seem to do just fine at the bottom and I hang the light about 9" above water.

Best T5 ever!

Hi. I just received and installed my ATI 60" 8x80watt fixture. I am prity new to the reefing hobby but something im finding out very fast is quality equipment goes a long way. I was told that one of the most important pieces for a reef aquarium is your light so when I was looking I found all reviews pointing to ATI being one of the best producers for T5 lighting. I love just about everything about it.The sleek stainless steel look, the very well built cooling fans, a very long power chord which i was very thankful for, the fact it comes with a hanging kit, The way the fixture directs heat away from your water through the fans, and the overall quality of the unit. The packaging was very well done so I may be giving a thumbs up to marine depot for that! The light output from this thing is amazing and I would say at this point it was worth every penny. I like everything about this fixture so i will skip that stuff and just mention some of the things i noticed that may or may not be negative. I did notice that this unit is not all that light especially the end with the ballast in it. Its not that bad but the hanging kit that it comes with is only mounted from one screw a side or bolt or whatever. This is no big deal till you have no studs to attach it to and only drywall ceiling. This is not that big of a deal but dont think you can just put a screw on each side and call it a day. Get some good anchors or bolt or whatever. Another thing is putting the bulbs in can be tricky because the reflectors and bulbs are very close together. No big deal though just some things i noticed. Overall this product is worth it. Nothing worse than a purchase that does not work and you end up paying twice to upgrade later. Last but not least the fish and corals are loving it! I was using a single metal halide 400 watt (of poor quality so nothing against metal halides in general) and a single T5 HO. The First light cycle of my ATI unit my fish and coral we noticeably more active and seemed much happier. I would recommend this light to anyone! THNX ATI and Marine Depot for this great product!

So far so good

It has been working for 2 weeks, so far so good, I own a Dimmable ATI 6x54, that has been a nightmare with the ballast, but the Sunpower 8x80 it´s working fine so far and provide a good quality light for my corals, they look good so far, let see what happens in a few months.

Awesome light

Put the 6x80 light over a 125 reef. There were no instructions on how to hang light so I put 2 anchors in ceiling, put socket head cap screws in the top part, and then the wire on last. Sounds confusing but quite easy once you receive light and see what is going on. Wish i could post pics. Also to save you the time to look up bulbs the recommended bulbs are in this order. Blue plus, Aquablue, Blue plus, Purple plus, Aquablue, Blue plus. Hope this helps.

Believe the hype!

I use this 60" 4 bulb over a 125g 6' tank and all I can say is wow. I have a 6 bulb unit (of a diff name brand) over my 75g and I'll tell ya that the ati unit puts out more visible light. Believe the hype, construction is amazing, fit and finish is amazing, light output and all. Top that with the amazing customer service I have recieved from customercare and you have one estatic customer. Thank you.
