Filter sock for Berlin filtration system. Can be used with the BS-1 sump, BS-2 sump or the Berlin Hang-On Acrylic mounts. 100 micron (smaller pore size, filters out more fine particulates).

Inner Diameter: 3-9/16"
Outer Diameter: 4-1/4"

10-11" approx. length.

*NOTE: Please rinse all filter socks prior to first use

Filter socks are the most convenient form of mechanical filtration. They remove excess food, detritus, organic waste, dust, and other particulates. Removing these particulates from the water column will reduce the amount of organic matter that produces ammonia and other undesirable substances in the aquarium. Filter socks also help prevent larger objects, such as sand, crabs, snails, etc. from damaging pump motors. Regular filter sock use will lower organic levels and result in CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER!

TOO LONG AND NOT AS PICTURED

Pros: Good quality

Cons: Not as described

Purchased 4 of these for my Trigger Systems Sapphire 26 because the description stated they were 10-11" in length and the pictures shows the exposed plastic ring which matches my current sump sock. Upon unboxing, the socks measured 14" in length (too long) and the support ring had the filter material sewn over it which caused the top of the sock to sit about 3/8th's of an inch higher and not flush with the sock mount of the sump which ultimately raised the height of the dispersion plate and foam block above the water inlet hole of the sump. Would not recommend if looking for a near flush mounting sock.

No holes in them socks

the filter socks work great, I change mine out every three days so I keep about 20 of them on hand. I wash them in the washing machine 10 at a time with small amount of bleach, then rinse the out and hang out to dry.

Works too well

This is my first experience using a sump with a filter sock. The sock itself catches so much material that I have to clean it out every day. Every evening the sock begins to overflow. Once I clean it, it works fine.In addition to two engineer gobies and a dwarf Angel, I have three large damsels in a 75 gallon reef tank that all tend to constantly stir up the sand and produce a lot of waste. I'm sure this contributes to the filter sock clogging rapidly.Overall, the filter sock does it's job extremely well. But, it may be doing too well for my tank set up.

Excellent product

I recently order the filter sock and I very impressed on how crystal clear the water is. I ordered three to substitute them when they get dirty. I switched to a new one after a few days. Note, I recently upgraded to a 90 gallon tank from a 40 gallon. I had extra live sand laying around so I placed that in the new set up algo with live rock from my old tank. That created a lot of dirty water but the sock took care if that after a few hours. Great product.
