Seneye was the brain child of three experienced aquarists with a shared vision of saving the worlds fish one tank at a time. John, Tom and Matt all left their jobs in 2008 with one goal; to invent the world’s first sensor that could measure chemical parameters that kill fish. With over 40 years’ experience at the sharp end of working with technology and aquarium it was clear that real innovation was needed. A few new team members also joined the Seneye ranks to make it happen with Luca heading up coding and Kiff overseeing manufacture.
Back in 2008 idea of cloud computing was in its infancy and term I.O.T. (Internet Of Things) had yet to be invented but somehow that’s where seneye ended up; a patented optical sensor able to connect to cloud servers and provide up to date information and alarms on water parameters from any location to any location. For the first time ever, people could see their aquariums via the seneye cloud; it was simple water monitoring for the masses.
Seneye devices monitor temperature, light, PAR, Kelvin, pH, water level along with one specific chemical unique to seneye technology, toxic ammonia (NH3). Things however move on and so has Seneye. The company now offers a suite of products aimed at fishkeepers, reef hobbyists, and planted aquarists.
