I have to give it 5 stars!

Pros: Material, size, power, and good skim scum.

Cons: Installation and break-in instructions.

This is a big, well-built skimmer. Probably more than I needed for a 120g with 30g in the sump, however I’m confident that it can handle anything I put in the display. The installation instructions could be better, but in reality the instructions should mention a video to watch to be even better. Marine Depot support was stellar with my concerns and after a few days I’ve just cleaned out the collection cup for the first time. It was a bit wet since it’s still breaking in, but it pulled out a good amount of grossness nonetheless. I’m sure the skim will get dryer soon. Also, moving the air intake close to the wall of your sump can help limit the amount of air that goes into the skimmer body, and help reduce overflows and bubbles during the break in period.

Defective Pump

Pros: Not sure

Cons: defective pump

The pump had a small noise from the start. After a couple of month it got worse. I then tried to deal with customer service M.D. what a waist of time and the Manufacturer LLC Sea Side Aquatics good luck with Tom. After jumping threw hoops with all the things they wanted me to do it final came down to the pump and suddenly Tom was no more. So I tried to follow up with Marine Depot and spoke with management. Here we are 3 weeks later, nothing. I was a long time customer not anymore. $350 wasted
