Great HOB Skimmer for Nano Tank

Pros: Very quiet after break-in, easy collection cup removal, overflow built in

Cons: Microbubbles until sponge gets dirty, had to cut plastic lip on 20G tank to fit

After a small break in period the skimmer works great. Puts out microbubbles until the sponge collected a little gunk in it to stop the bubbles from getting into the tank. Started working as normal about 2 days after install. Heavy cleaning restarts break in period.

Awesome hang on the back

Pros: Works awesome pulls the junk out the water without hearing it and no micro bubbles at all in the tank

Cons: only thing but its not a problem for me is its kinda bulky, if you need a small skimmer for room in a sump this is not the one for you

I unboxed this and hung it on the back of my 20 gal nano, i was worried that it was a loser for about 3 hours nothing was going on in the chamber, at about 3 hours into running this it started pulling the junk out, 2 more hours my collection cup was full on nasty thick green mess, emptied it out and repeated the process 2 more times, after that it settled in and started skimming normal, this thing runs silent cant hear it and zero micro bubbles in the tank, If you need a small hang on the back skimmer this is the one to get,

Great Nano skimmer

Pros: Great design. Well engineered. great price. Quiet. Takes up little space

Cons: A little extra design and they could of had it do surface skimming

Love the design. Everything is easy and fits together perfectly. First one I got was extremely loud. Took it apart 6 times and no change. Contacted tech support and they said it was normal of break in period. After a week of losing my mind I knew there was something wrong. Sent it back and got a new one. New one works great and can barely hear it. I have it on a tank with a rim. Just cut off the lip wth a pair of sharp electrical snips. Took 5 min to do and fits perfectly.

Solid skimmer

Really a nice little skimmer for whats available for HOB nano skimmers. I really like the size and look. Running a needlewheel is much nicer than an air driven, much quieter which I really like. I have this on a 7 gallon pico with a damsel, various CuC and a shrimp. Skimmate is a brown color, not very dark but definately not water only. I loke that it has an overflow tube that goes back to the tank. Gives me piece of mind as this is at my office and cannot have it flooding my desk over the weekend. If I could change one thing, I wish it did surface skimming. Overall that is why I downgrade it one star. I've had it for almost 2 months now. Would recommend.

Good little skimmer

I have this guy on a 2OGAL Long Reef tank with a pair of clowns and a small goby. Aside from having a little issue pulling air in the first time I plugged it in, it has been great. Quickly pulls out brown yuck after each feeding. Additionally is is very quiet.

Get the Nasty Out

This thing is amazing. I have it on a 5g Fluval Spec V and it is the perfect size if you want to use the factory light. I used it with chemiclean as the source of micro bubbles and it worked amazing. Break in took about 5 days and not it is pulling nasty stuff right out. Marine Depot also did an amazing job getting it to me (in Virginia) from the west coast.

Worked well at first

Got this for a 20g Nuvo. I really wanted to love it as so many nano skimmers are complete garbage. Worked great at first! After a month it stopped working. Had to deal with warranty support through Bubble Magus/Seaside Aquatics, which was a difficult process. Paid deposit to have replacement pump sent, still not working. This may be a great option if you get one that works, but if any warranty support is needed, good luck!
