1.0–2.0 mm diameter grain size. A revolution in reef-keeping! This is the one you’ve been reading about in all the hobbyist publications. This grade of aragonite is specifically engineered for plenum-type nitrate reducing beds or anywhere a deeper bed is called for. The pore water space created by precision grading also allows maximum pH support and dissolution of calcium carbonate.

CaribSea Aragonite buffers to the highest pH and delivers more calcium, carbonate, and trace elements than any other substrate. Little or no rinsing required, aragonite keeps aquariums healthier, longer.

Good quality sand

Pros: Good for African cichlids, looks good

Cons: Easily clouds water

The bag says "for cichlids" but it should say "African cichlids." They like the hardness brought on by the aragonite. Make sure to clean this sand properly to cut down on cloudiness.

Great sand!

Pros: Nice mix of small and large grains

Cons: None

A great mix of smaller and large grains. Even with fairly fast flow through the tank it stays put and looks great!

Only sand I will buy

Pros: Great product. Clear water. 10/10

Cons: Price.

This is the best sand a beginner could get, I say that as a beginner, I ended up buying to 40lbs bags as I thought i need 80lbs in my 55 gallon tank, one bag was perfect. Note that I have a 55g tall.

Best sand for reef

Many attest to this being the perfect sand for a tank. I have to agree. Just make sure to clean it well to keep cloudy water to a minimum.

Great sand

Pros: Great size

Cons: Nothing lol

I use this sand in all my tanks. I want high flow without sand blowing around. This is the perfect size, not too big not too small.

Great Product!

Pros: Self levels in aquarium well, Great size of substrate, Does not blow around with water flow,

Cons: Needs a LOT of rinsing, but once rinsed works great.

In my previous aquariums I have used a wide variety of substrate. I purchased 80lbs for my new 75 gallon aquarium.

The dry aragonite special grade is a great size and color. It does not blow around like lots of sands or smaller sizes and very easy to work with.

I do recommend THOROUGHLY rinsing the substrate before adding to your aquarium.
