Buh-bye, filter socks!

The ClariSea Fleece Filter Roller is a high efficiency water filtration system that effectively removes suspended particles such as: micro algae, detritus, food, organic waste and gravel dust from the water column.

Rising levels within the filter trigger the Clarisea`s sensors, signaling that the filter fleece is saturated with the suspended particles and then rotating new clean filter fleece in.  Constantly rotating the fleece leaves no chance for any of dirt to breakdown any further, leaving your water cleaner than ever and you without the headache of switching out filter socks every few days.

Suitable for use in marine aquariums, freshwater aquariums, fish-breeding systems and propagation systems for corals.

Purchase replacement filter fleece rolls HERE.

No, I would not recommend this.

Won't leave your water crystal clear

Pros: Nice looks

Cons: Difficult to adjust, alarm set up easily, not for crystal clear water.

The main filter box is a bit larger than the width of the roll and allows water to pass through without being filtered, mostly on the top. Too expensive to buy and rolls at more than $30 USD for such a lousy mistake in the design.

Replacement parts are not available

Pros: Works great when it's not broken

Cons: Can't get parts when it breaks

I've had this item for 6 months. Two weeks ago the motor stopped working. Ecotech Marine, who the distributor in the US, says there are no replacement motors available and they don't know when they will get more. I asked them to a motor out of a new unit and send it to me. When the new motors came in they could replace the motor in that unit. They said they couldn't do that. Having spent $399 for this you would think they would doing everything they could to take care of their customers. I will never by a product from Ecotech Marine!

Works Well

As a whole it's a great unit, water goes it, gets filtered, flows out. My issue is the spray bar gets clogged quite regularly which requires disassembly. Also if the fleece doesn't move for a set period of time it starts beeping incessantly. I understand the point of the alarm but sometimes it just doesn't need to advance and I end up silencing the alarm quite often.

Clarisea5K

Pros: Lowered my nitrate/phosphate and my water is sparkling clean!

Cons: The paper instruction that came with it sucks... go watch youtube instead on how to put it together.

Very happy with the purchase. I am currently using this filter in my RedSea Reefer 350. It's been cleaning my tank since 8/20 and still have half roll left. The tank is crystal clear within a couple of weeks. During my observation the more gph I feed my Clarisea, the faster your roll will last and the color of the used filter will come out not as brown. Also, I find micro bubbles will block the filter fibers and not allow the debris to stick to the filter if you point your water input facing up. I am running my Clarisea 5K on its own water pump. I didn't want my tank to become "super clean" wiping out nitrate/phosphate and becoming ZERO reading. Overall, very happy with my purchase and would buy again if I have another tank.

Works Great!

Pros: Quality consitruction

Cons: A little pricey

I use a pair to handle flow from a Sicce ADV 9. It's clear from the used fleece that they are pulling dirt from the water. No smell, even without separate carbon add-on.
