ONE & ONLY Live Nitrifying Bacteria 2oz - Reef Pure - Dr. Tim`s Aquatics

Treat aquarium nitrite and ammonia levels, instantly!

Use One & Only when setting up a new tank, after a water change, cleaning your filter, when adding new fish and after a disease treatment to control ammonia and nitrite.

The key to setting up a successful aquarium is to quickly convert the fish waste to a non-toxic form. This is done by nitrifying bacteria. Under normal conditions it can take 30 to 45 days for these bacteria to become naturally established in a newly set-up aquarium. Unfortunately, during this time period, ammonia and nitrite can increase to levels toxic to fish – a process called New Tank Syndrome. For years, it was assumed that two particular species of nitrifying bacteria were responsible for this process but original scientific research by Dr. Timothy Hovanec showed this not to be the case. This is one reason why nitrification products have failed to work in the past.

One & Only Live Nitrifying Bacteria are the result of the latest scientific research and are used by public aquariums and professionals around the world.

  • Eliminates new tank syndrome
  • Instantly creates a biofilter
  • Removes toxic ammonia and nitrite, naturally
  • No sulfur or other offensive odors
  • No wait needed
  • No overdosing
  • 100% natural

  • Treats 30 gallons / 114 liters
  • Dose = 10 ml per 10 gallons of aquarium water
  • Cannot be overdosed; use entire contents for best results
  • Good for 6 months at room temperature, 1 year at 50°F
  • Best to keep refrigerated for longest shelf life.

Your mileage may vary....

Pros: 🤷‍♂️

Cons: May not work in the time frame as advertised

Never used a product of Dr. Tim’s before. Not all that excited about this one. Followed the recipe for success on Dr Tim’s website exactly. Had no results after over a week. Contacted Dr. Tim, he was very helpful and seemed to suggest that my live rock or sand could be working against his product. After 12 days I broke down and got a second bottle. Added that in as I have read that mixing products was not more effective. No better results. After 14 days, called Marine Depot and they suggested Maxbacter7. Added that in. 2 days later, off to the races. Tank began cycling. I can’t say if it was just a slow cycle or the Maxbacter7. But the promoted cycle time of Dr. Tim’s I did not experience.

I do like Dr. Tim’s tank clarifier as it is all natural and works great and fast!

Not sure about this....

Pros: Easy

Cons: Not really seeing the same results as others

Followed the directions exactly. Tank using live rock and live sand. Perfect pH, specific gravity, temp (78 +/- 0.2 degrees). Have seen zero testing changes. All I have is a nice ammonia tank after about 4 days. With all the hype and reviews on this I would have expected to see some test results by now.

Definitely assisted with cycllying

Pros: Cycling assist

Cons: Didn't see any

I typically don't add nitryifying bacteria when starting a new tank, I tend to be a fan of waiting it out but I had a significant bacteria bloom in the tank that I wanted to address. I added this product and after 2 days it was gone and my ammonia and nitrites were reducing.

Doesn't work

Pros: None

Cons: Way over priced, doesn't work.

As i was setting up my 75 gallon fowlr tank i used 16oz of this along with there ammonium chloride. The ammonia spiked at 4ppm and sat there for 6 weeks never dropped. After contacting Dr. Tims i was told that it was impossible because it was still in the shelf life period and there bacteria does not die in the bottle. I then added Aquavitro seed and the tank completely cycled in 1 week. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

One and only

Pros: None

Cons: Everything

Absolutely garbage. After 6 days I still have a ammonia reading of 4.0ppm. Very disappointing. Highly suggest not using this product. Especially at the price it goes for. Nope never using it again.

Works Great!!

Pros: It Works!!

Cons: None that I have found

I have been cycling with live rock for years. This was my first time using Dr. Tims and I will always use his product from now on. There are many bad reviews out there, but after digging deep into the root cause of the bad reviews, it is because the people using this product did not follow the instructions exactly as Dr. Tim tells you to. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH. Youtube the videos and watch Dr. Tim explain exactly how to use the product and you will be cycled very fast!
