E.S.V. B-Ionic Seawater System Salt Mix - Makes 50 Gallons of Saltwater

A unique solution to many of the problems associated with all dry synthetic seawater blends.

Problem:
All dry blends may not be homogenous resulting in considerable chemical variations not only from batch to batch but also from within the same container. Aggravating this further, humidity contamination during storage can result in localized precipitation reactions.

Solution:
B-Ionic® Seawater System avoids these problems by providing the two dominant salts in our formulation in separate containers. All other major, minor, and trace elements are pre-dissolved in a highly concentrated two component liquid system. These dry and liquid components can easily be measured for any size batch of synthetic seawater.

Problem:
It is now recognized that most reagent grade salts can contain contaminants (trace metals, etc.) at levels which may inhibit the growth of some algae species from low nutrient environments (oligotrophic) such as coral reefs.

Solution:
B-Ionic® Seawater System addresses this issue by providing ultra-low heavy metal Sodium Chloride (max. allowable less than half max. allowable for reagent grade sodium chloride) and USP grade Magnesium Sulfate as the dry components of the system. In addition, all other chemicals pre-dissolved in our liquid components are subject to our three phase purification process resulting in significant lowering of contaminants, including phosphate.

Problem:
Many all dry blends take excessive time to completely dissolve. Addition of newly mixed batches to the aquarium can cause irritation to inhabitants upon exposure to non-dissolved salt micro-particles.

Solution:
B-Ionic® Seawater System avoids this problem by providing all of the slower dissolving ingredients in a pre-dissolved solution form. Batches can be used within 10 minutes of preparation with no adverse effects providing initial RO and/or DI water contains sufficient dissolved oxygen.

Best salt available

Pros: Clean, fast, accurate, chemically balanced, minimal brown gunk

Cons: Measuring and mixing steps, pricey but you get what you pay for!

This salt is amazing. Mixes cleanly and is ready faster than anything else out there. Being made from pharmaceutical grade components rather than evaporated sea water, it is cleaner and more predictable than other brands. Brown gunk in my mixing station is very minimal compared to any other brand I have tried.

True, mixing the four parts is a bit finicky, but to me it’s part of the fun. Plus I can tweak the mix to suit my needs if I’d like to. Plus, mixing it this way minimizes precipitation and ensures all the components are at the proper ionic ratios.

I do wish Marine Depot would carry the refill packages instead of the full kit in the bucket, though.

I love it!

Love it

Pros: Clean, consistent, it's salt

Cons: You have to mix or possibly measure if you don't cheat and use the same full amount each time.

Easy to use (for me), consistent results, and zero residue which is great because I can't easily clean my container.

Awesome

Pros: Mixes clear quickly, spot on salinity and other parameters

Cons: More steps for something to possibly go wrong

I’ve always used tm pro but decided to try this because the alk is a lil bit higher which I prefer. It mixes super quick like literally clear in 3 minutes. Using a scale makes it a bit easier and more accurate imo. Always spot on with salinity which is my favorite part about it. Takes a min or two longer to make but can use it quickly after mixing. Only con is I guess with four parts to mix together there is always a chance you are more likely to mess it up, but just have to pay closer attention.

Perfect salt

Pros: Clean, precise, fast mixing, no brown sludge

Cons: Extra time but worth it

Little more work than your typical, but well worth the benefit of a clean product with a precise formula

AWESOME!

Pros: very easy to mix and use. Instructions are very clear

Cons: None

Been using this salt mix for only a month now for my weekly water changes and the results are amazing! I use my own RODI water and it mixes crystal clear and very quickly; leaving absolutely no residue in my mixing container or on the powerhead and heater I use for mixing. When added to the tank, my corals stay happily inflated and nuisance algae has greatly been reduced. Yes, it costs more; but you get what you pay for. I wont use anything else.

Most Consistent Salt. Period.

We preach consistency in our reefs. This is the most consistent way to mix salt for water changes. After a combination of 2 mixes and 2 liquids, you'll have crystal clear salt water everytime. Buy a decent kitchen scale for true consistency.

Can't go wrong

Pros: It Works

Cons: As I am writing this review MD is out of stock, hope they have some next week.😭

I have used several of the "bests" outhere and this is the most stable, consistent and clearest salt mix I have ever used.

Clearest water and healthiest livestock ever

Pros: Consiistant quality, apparent purity of the elements used.

Cons: Umm, none

I have used a few of the major saltmakers over the years. ESV has proven to me to be the best of these..My coral colors and polyp extension are better than ever. RBTAs and rock flowers are looking exceptionally happy. It never leaves residue in the mixing bucket. Great stuff, I won't be switching anymore.
