Nothing positive to say about this product

Pros: Looks cool

Cons: Incomprehensible instructions and poor product design - especially use of Velcrow to secure the unit.

Having had good success with the Eheim single feeder, I purchased the twin feeder to provide greater variety of food (pellet & flake) for my fish while on vacation. However, this feeder is a nightmare from incomprehensible instructions to poor design. Unlike the single feeder - which uses a clamp to attach to the tank - this unit relies on Velcro tabs to attaché to a horizontal surface above the tank. The first time my feeder operated, the entire unit fell into the tank, dumping food everywhere. Just nothing good to say about this product at all.

I like to keep things simple. This is not the device for that! The programming process is difficult to understand and good luck trying to figure it out so that it will feed the appropriate amount when you want it to. We only use this to feed our fish on the weekends, so it is overkill. Does it work correctly? I really don't know because I can't figure out how to program it. Did I mention I have a Ph.D.? Maybe that's the problem :) I'm going to give it to a high school kid. Maybe he can figure it out. Seriously, they should make the instructions more complete.

Mediocre product

The other reviews were correct, small pellets will cause this feeder to jam. If you follow the instructions, it will have you fill the feeder prior to configuring the feed times. If you press the wrong button it will dispense food unintentionally (onto the floor in my case.) The cover is made from fragile plastic. I broke one of the hinges opening the device the first time. I did not force it. If you have a established tank with larger fish, this product will work for you. For smaller tanks or fish, avoid this product.

Great Product

Wanted back into the hobby but being that I am a career firefighter, I am gone a lot. I searched hi and low and actually found feeders that were said to be better but this one just stuck out to me that it looked like a better design. Started using flake food and after a while, the moisture gummed it up and the food turned into a nasty blob that would feed through. Switched to a granular food and have not had any problems since. I have it set to feed twice a day, and the fish know when it is time. Glad to know this will keep my fish fed while I am off at work.

Works good!

Quality is great. Smaller than I expected. Works good. Not sure it holds enough food to feed a 90 gal tank for seven days. Programming is simple. Only one down side, you can not turn it off with out taking out the batteries, then you lose your programming. Other than that I like it.

good, but limited

The principle for the feeder is good, but it will only work for medium to large pellets. Flake food will not be driven/dispersed by this feeder. It works for me, because I feed a lot of pellet, but dont expect it to work well for small pellet or flake.

gets stuck

bought this item and I use pelleted food for when I go on vacation. Filled this unit with .5 to 1mm pelleted food and the corkscrew gets stuck and won't feed. Called support and they said that it should be primarily used for flake.

Works great, i feed my saltwater fish a variety diet and this was one of the few feeders that allows you to feed 2 different foods. The instructions are a little confusing but once you figure them out it is very easy...over all great feeder. I am comfortable going on vacation for several days and knowing that i will come home to all my fish being alive.
