Dual Gyre Pump WiFi Controller:

Powered by CoralVue`s HYDROS platform and Backwards Compatible with Gyre 1K & 3K

The previous generation of IceCap Gyre pumps, the 1K, and the 3K, had external controllers with buttons and a dial to fiddle with to fine-tune flow. The 2K and 4K does away with all that. All of the control is now done wirelessly on a free mobile app for your Android or iOS (Apple) device. There are a ton of other benefits to the new controller that we`re excited to share with you, including:

  • Control 2 IceCap Gyre Pumps with 1 Power Supply
You can control AND power up to 2 pumps from a single Dual Gyre Pump WiFi Controller. A single power brick means less clutter around your tank!
  • Compatible with All IceCap Gyre Models: 1K / 2K / 3K / 4K
If you already own an IceCap 1K or 3K pump, you can upgrade it to be WiFi controlled! Just plug it into the Dual Gyre Pump WiFi Controller and voila! You`re now controlling your old pump using the latest tank tech!
  • Mix-and-Match Different IceCap Gyre Pumps Together
You can use whatever combination of two IceCapGyre pumps that you like. A 2K and 4K, a 1K and 2K, a 3K, and 4K, it`s up to you!
  • Easily Connect to a Third-Party Aquarium Controller
The Dual Gyre Pump WiFi Controller has 0-10V input so you can connect and control your IceCap Gyre pumps from a third-party aquarium controller, like the CoralVue HYDROS Control 4, Neptune Systems Apex, GHL ProfiLux, or the Reef Angel.
  • Set Flow Patterns, Create Schedules, and Trigger Modes
CoralVue`s HYDROS platform powers the Dual Gyre Pump WiFi Controller, so you`ll have access to multiple flow patterns that are programmable by time along with handy modes you can trigger like Feed Mode, Night Mode, or Water Change Mode.
  • 4 LED Light Indicators To Visually Communicate Pump Status
There are four colored LED lights on the Dual Gyre Pump WiFi Controller that give you an at-a-glance look at what`s going on with your pumps. The indicators are Status, Mode, Pump 1, and Pump 2. Get clued into connectivity or performance issues by only looking at the controller.
HYDROS WaveEngine Direct Drive Compatible

You can connect your IceCap 2K Gyre Pump to CoralVue`s universal pump controller, the HYDROS WaveEngine, using a simple Direct Drive adapter. The WaveEngine can control, monitor, and even supply power to your pump. You can connect and power up to four flow pumps in this fashion, which eliminates the need for their external controllers, cables, and power bricks.

The real kicker about the WaveEngine, of course, is its ability to allow pumps from different brands to work together seamlessly using a single integrated flow management system. If you`ve ever wanted to use your IceCap Gyres with Maxspect Gyres, EcoTech Marine VorTechs, Reef Octopus Octo Pulses, or Tunze Turbelles (among others), now you can!

The Gyre 2K Uses Revolutionary Crossflow Technology

Wavemakers excel in making waves, while waves are spectacular to watch in motion, they are moving the majority of the water vertically up and down, with relatively low horizontal movement, especially near the bottom of the aquarium.

On the other hand, gyre generators excel in moving the sheer flow of water from one side of the aquarium to the other. The flow of water is so strong that it would bounce back from the opposite side to achieve full circulation within an aquarium, i.e., generating "gyre flows."

Why have Gyre pumps taken the aquarium world by storm? There are three main reasons:
  1. They leave virtually no dead spots in your aquarium.
  2. The flow is evenly distributed throughout your entire aquarium.
  3. Water bounces back off the other side of your tank, creating a full circulation to complete the Gyre pattern.

These three key points run in stark contrast to the performance of the status quo propeller-type pumps that once ruled our hobby. Sure, they can move water. But they don`t do it as efficiently and intelligently as the Gyre! For example:

Disadvantages of Standard Propeller Nozzle Pumps:

A) Relatively weak water movement with dead spots left in their wake.
B) There is a powerful flow in the center but not elsewhere, which makes coral placement difficult.
C) The water movement is weak at the other end of the aquarium and is not designed for recirculation.

Why is a Gyre Generator Superior to a Wavemaker?

Wavemakers excel in making waves. While waves are spectacular to watch in motion, they are moving the majority of the water vertically up and down, with relatively low horizontal movement—especially near the bottom of the aquarium.

On the other hand, the Gyre excels in generating massive movements of water from one side of the aquarium to the other. The sheer volume of water is so substantial that it bounces off the opposite side of the aquarium to achieve full circulation within the tank. Or, as we call it, generating a "gyre flow."

Pretty neat pump

Pros: Quiet affordable

Cons: No interface module that I can find for 4k

The pump has plenty of flow it is really quiet I also have a 2k and it seems to be a bit louder but the WiFi controller runs them both. I love that no need for multiple controllers.

Long review loving the 4k..

Pros: Flow lots of natural flow , powerful , Hydros Wave Engine programs, Wifi

Cons: NONE

I have a 6’ long tank first with only one 3K, at the beginning I had some issues with loud noises but resolved after working with CoralVue, some use and cleaning with citric acid. Decided that needed more flow and got the 4k with the WIFI controller. The 4K is dead silent out of the box no humming no vibrations, the controller allows me to set different programs through the day; sine wave during the day, square wave during the late afternoon, then random wave at night ending with constant flow at low speed till next morning. The two pumps together made a huge difference, the patterns are very natural and powerful at just 30%. The pumps are very close to the top and out of the view. The controller is very simple to operate and easily connects to the Wi-Fi with your smart phone, unlike other review the programs you set goes to the cloud permanently you don’t lose them and if you lose power you will be notify by email and text, and you get some of the Hydros Wave Engine programs. Taking them apart for cleaning is super easy or in between just dunk them in citric acid for an hour. Because of the value, price, quality and especially costumer service from Coralvue you can’t go wrong.

Like it

Pros: good flow, 2 pumps on one controller, backwords compatible with 1k and 3k gyres

Cons: app is a bit confusing, both pumps on controller must follow same triggers (schedule)

I like these gyres. I started with 2 3k models and now have 6 total. The new controller is what sold me on adding more of these. Being able to control on the app is great. The app is a bit confusing and the directions to set up is not great. One of my started out a bit glitchy, but seems to be working now

Great Product

Pros: Nice even flow pattern very easy to use

Cons: If it’s shut off for a long period of time it needs to be reprogrammed... But I just learned to set a program for a longer time span with a very low flow 0%...

I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s pretty awesome. Great flow for my 90 gallon reef which I’m using the 4K. Very strong magnet and the Bluetooth connection seems flawless. I’ve set up different flow patterns for the day and it a nice even flow. It’s pretty powerful on some flow patterns but you can tune it down to what you want. My last power head was a Tunze and to tell the truth I’ll never go back... To much with the magnet propeller knocking and then sometimes spinning backwards.. Great product

Great idea, terrible execution

Pros: Moves a great amount of water

Cons: I haven’t had the unit work past 7 days

Got this after my mp40 failed again. Worked amazing for a week, then it lost wireless communication and stopped running. 2 weeks and 32 emails later.....nothing! A huge flaw in this unit is that there is absolutely no way to control it without the app, which doesn’t work! Manual controls on the controller would at least let you stu use the pump. But, there are no manual controls anywhere! Another waste of my hard earned money!

Took the jump

Pros: Good control app, lots of flow, flexible modes

Cons: Price. Profile a bit big

So i decided make the flow issue a non-issue. I have to say this purchase did that. I have a mixed reef mostly SPS and I have the flow turned down to 50% on a 48" tank. The output modes are sine, square, constant, and random. You can also make custom modes. The app that controls the settings is very easy to learn. Overall a good purchase but a bit spendy.
