The Hagen Fluval AquaClear HOB filters are a great blank canvas but it needs a great companion like inTank. This media basket will greatly improve the clarity of your aquarium water. Everything is forced through filter floss with it`s specialized designed chamber. Water is then forced through your media. The top chamber can be used a fuge for macro algae. This is held in place and not allowed to spill over into the aquarium. the basket will fit in the filter with the lid closed.
- Fits the AquaClear 70 Filter
- Removable shelf for more options
- Forces all water through filter floss first, can be changed without removal of basket
- Forces water through all media
- Water enters floss, then bottom chamber and finally through the top
- Drop in design, no modifications necessary
- Provides a location for a heater so you can get it out of the tank
- Great for freshwater, saltwater, creating a fuge
- Can hold a Hydor 50W heater in the floss chamber
- Lid can be placed on filter
- 7-1/4" Tall
- 5-3/8" Wide (at top)

Yes, I would recommend this.
InTank Media Basket for AquaClear 70
Pros: Clean, professional design and build. Fits perfectly in the filter
Cons: Possible water bypass in some instances
Product was carefully packaged and arrived at my home (Dallas) on Friday after I placed the order on Monday. I did not receive a tracking number but contact Marine Depot and they provided one for me.
Product is a bit thinner and more "flexible" than I anticipated, but pictures do not show that sort of detail. It seems well made, with very clean lines.
I will say I cannot run my AC70 on "full" output/flow level without some spill over when using the InTank basket. I have a thin piece of floss in the first section, but even without the floss the top flow rate of the filter causes water to spill back over into the tank by the intake tube. While not a big issue to me, it does seem possible problematic for some people who want the maximum filtration possible with their filter while using the media basket. You can see the bypass water flow in the video clip I posted.
I do like the "skimmer" return portion of the basket which consists of several holes. This "disrupts" the water and breaks surface tension as water moves back into the tank.
I will add I had to turn off the filter when removing the basket, otherwise water will spill out of the top of the filter.
I still highly recommend this product as it is as described, well made, and suits my needs.

No, I would not recommend this.
Effective Media mover
Pros: Will redirect water for better contact with media.
Ever since I added this media basket my planted tank algae problem has slower declined.I think it has to do with the better flow been the purigen and in coming water being much more efficient.
