JBJ Rimless 10gall tank

Pros: Cool tank

Cons: Arrived broken

Wanted to like this tank, but it arrived poorly packed and shattered. But Marine Depot came through with a full refund as a replacement was not available.

Great 10 gallon

Pros: Tank is well built, lighting system is good, rimless tank is great, filtration is good, glass is clear.

Cons: I would rather a mesh lid vs. a class lid.

I’v had this ten gallon rimless tank for 4 months, and for a person just starting the hobby it’s a great tank! I have two clowns and a blood red shrimp. They really seem to enjoy theirselves. I would recommend this tank to anyone. The rimless design of the tank is amazing. It allows you to see the entire aspect of the aquatic home your inhabitants live in. It is definitely like having a piece of the ocean in your room. Iv had no filtration problems, the water is always crystal clear as long as I do a 20% water change every 7-10 days. Great product!

JBJ Rimless 10

Pros: wide viewing angle, possibility to convert to peninsula, all in one setup

Cons: LED light, undersized single return

I'll start by saying why I selected this tank. I was looking for a nano tank that had a wide viewing angle and was pleasant on the eyes to look at. This tank is just as wide as most 20 gal tanks at right around 24" left to right offering good aquascaping options and nice back and forth swimming room. It is also a very clean/modern looking tank, sitting on a pedestal which really sets it apart from the everyday typical looking tanks out there.

Now on to the functionality. It has a decent size sump that can be placed in the back center or on either side of the aquarium. Although in order to set it up as a true peninsula style you would need a different light since the one it comes with can only really be used in the standard configuration. (More on the light further down below)

It has a heater compartment which I haven’t used yet but hopefully any nano sized heater will fit in there…we’ll see. It also comes with some filter media that is replaceable, I only plan to use the filter pad and will probably throw in my own carbon/chemipure.

The pump that came with it had a rattle to it that drove me crazy but Marine Depot and JBJ were kind enough to send out a new one which seems to now be working as expected. Kudos to the customer service on that.

One thing I wish this tank had was dual return nozzles. It only has one tiny one that is a non standard size so its going to be difficult to come up with a custom dual return solution, still working on that but I think a more even disbursement of flow will be beneficial once I add fish/corals.

My other knock on this tank is the light. It has feather touch controls which basically means its annoying to turn on and off and to change between settings and doesn’t even have a timer. I don’t even know why JBJ included the light with this setup. Most, if not all people will replace it with a better one anyway and I’d rather have them pass down the cost savings to the consumer.

All in all pretty satisfied but I withhold a 5 star rating due to the light and the single tiny return nozzle. Other than that it has been a nice little tank that I’ve been happy with so far.
