grossly overpriced

Pros: brand name matches unit

Cons: price, no real benefit of hi-s

im a big fan of kent marine especially my old dlx hi-s 60gpd ro unit, but having said that the prices for filters is a joke. i personally have never seen a difference in using "hi-s" over anything else. what i can also say is that using hi-s membrane you are limited in gpd to a max of 60. i will however point out that with my old deluxe 60gpd unit i replaced the ro membrane with a 150 gpd unit ( stock flow restricto of unknown ml/m) at time of replacement i also purchased a flow restrictor that was suppose to be for a 150 gpd membrane however it dropped pressure to 45 psi while the stock capillary flow restrictor still had a psi of 65. also note that online you see a lot of 4x or 3x while searchign for sizing of flow restrictors however most units you see sold on aquatic sites such as MD or BRS the flow restrictor is 550ml/m which puts it at like 2x to 3x. so i stuck with my original oem flow restrictor in my dlx maxxima hi-s 60gpd with the new 150gpd membrane.

my advice is to save the money again as much as i like kent marine i do NOT recommend paying 45 for his di resin or his filters or membranes it just is not worth it and that is my honest opinion and review of this di resin and the maxxima hi-s overall

Kent DI

DI working well. Over 100g of zero TDS water produced so far. Much better than generic DI used earlier.

Having the Kent Marine Hi-S Color Change cartridge has given me a since of security. I know that I am providing the highest quality water for my aquarium, and I can see when it needs to be replaced. With the whole house water filters and then the prefilters for the Maxxima Hi-S unit itself, this cartridge lasted a long time, nearly three years.
