The Mag-Float’s Powerful rare earth neodymium magnets enable the easy removal of algae. By dragging the Mag-Float on the outside of the tank, the Mag-Float on the other side of the glass/acrylic surface follows, scraping off the algae with the pad. Most impressively, you will no longer get wet cleaning off the algae from your glass/acrylic aquarium. It will simply float up allowing easy retrieval. Therefore, with its unique floating feature allows easy and efficient movement around the corners of fish tanks, and you will no longer knock over decorations, damage corals and invertebrates. The cleaning pad remains free of sand or gravel, thus preventing scratching. The ABS plastic, injected molded and toxic free, allows the Mag-Float to be left attached to your aquarium surface at all times. This makes it convenient, and practical for the next clean up job.

Floats up to top for easy pickup. No more reaching your hand into the tank to retrieve. Strong enough to go around corners of the tank. Glass tanks only.

Now includes brackets in order to attach the optional Mag-Float Scraper Blades available separately.

Manufacturer information

Mag-Float Aquarium Supplies
Mag-Float is owned by Gulfstream Tropical Aquarium, a South Florida business established in 1964. Originally the company`s focus was distributing live brine shrimp, ghost shrimp, blackworms, frozen fish food, live phytoplankton, live feeders freshwater fish and aquatic plants. The company`s signature product line, patented Mag-Float floating magnet aquarium cleaners, were named the most innovative invention in the aquatic industry in 2000. The following year the company began distributing their products nationally and internationally. More recently the company unveiled a line of fresh and saltwater aquarium water conditioners, treatments and buffers under the moniker Mag-Float Labs and introduced the Mag-Flip, a magnet aquarium cleaner with a scraper for more stubborn algae.

Works great. No complaints

Pros: Works great. Strong magnet holds well even cleaning fast

Cons: Wish they offered in black. Not the best looking thing in my tank...

I first bought a cheap Amazon knock off and wasn't happy. Impossible to switch glass faces without it floating away so I went with the original and never looked back. Works as it sgoand keeps my glass crystal clean. Love it.

Very strong magnet glass cleaner

Pros: Price, razor and magnet strength

Tried first time with this prduct with additional blade attachment. Clean svery well. Magent so strong does not glide but drags and cleans glass. Be very careful near seals on edges of tank. Easier to clean tank daily then use long razor handle.

Suffice for basic cleaning

Pros: Good for basic surface cleaning

Cons: Not powerful enough, demagnetized easily

This cleaner works good for basic glass surface cleaning. Won’t get the corners ( guessing I might need to get the scraper attachment). I don’t like the fact that after a while of using it to clean the magnet seems demagnetized.

Great for cleaning algae!

Pros: Quality, price

Cons: None

What’s not to like about the old classic mag float?! There are fancier alternatives, yes. But they cost more! If you don’t need all the bells and whistles, this will do JUST fine! Happy reefing!
