Manufacturer information

Marine Depot was started in 1998 by a self-professed reef geek and pre-med student Ken Wong. Ken envisioned a one-stop shop where customers could find everything they needed, from technical product specifications, reef aquarium information, expert advice on the hobby and friendly one-on-one customer support. Having grown from a one-man crew to being one of the world’s largest suppliers of reef and marine aquarium products, this very core philosophy still lives strong in the Marine Depot culture 20 years later.

Good product

Pros: Reduces waste

Cheaper than replacing the whole filter cartridge, so great for saving money and plastic.

tds 0

Pros: Back to 0 TDS.

Cons: no

Packaging: The bag it comes in, is very high quality. The reseal-able zip lock style works very well. I seal it, and use an office clip to ensure it remains air-tight. Quality: I used this resin to refill my RO Buddie DI Cartridge and it worked like a charm. Back to 0 TDS.

Good price but expends fast.

Pros: Does the job, Good price

Cons: Expends fast

This DI resin is priced cheap and does its job, but it just seems to be changing color faster than a competing brand I've tried. Overall I wouldn't mind using it and buying it again.

Gets the tds to 0

Pros: Good price, highly effective,

Cons: None

This is a great product if you need TDS to be 0. Long lasting and with the color changing you don't have to wonder when your resin is about to stop working

Works well but.....

Pros: Seems to work well, brings the water from roughly 18-20ppm after passing through the RO cartridges and membrane down to 0ppm after the DI cartridges and keeps it at zero as long as the media is still good.

Cons: Seems to get used up and change color quite a bit faster than the pre-filled DI cartridges that are supposed to be the exact same media.

Before I bought this product I had read an old review where someone was saying that this resin doesn't last very long, but I decided to give it a try anyways and bought a large amount of it, I don't remember the exact amount but I have refilled my two DI cartridges 3 times now and still have a little bit left. Unfortunately, I seem to be having that same problem. It seems like this resin changes color at least twice as fast as the pre-filled cartridges I was buying. I don't know if maybe I'm doing something wrong, there's not much you could do wrong with this product so I'm not thinking that would be the issue! I think what I will do is buy a pre-filled cartridge and keep a record of exactly how fast I go through my last cartridge with this resin and then switch to the new one I buy once the cartridge with this resin is all used up. I will come back and share my results when it's all said and done!

Perfect.

Pros: Works perfectly.

Cons: None

The DI resin works perfectly. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. I use this resin to refill my RO Buddie DI cartridge. A 1.25lb bag fills the cartridge 3 times. Some other reviews say it doesn't change color properly but I haven't had any issues. It goes from blue to brown and then amber when fully exhausted.

Not up to par

MD ‘s DI resin works fine but I think after using it and comparing it with other venders bulk resin it’s not as easy to use the color change is questionable at best , it does change from almost black to a dark brown other resins on the market go from blue to a light tan the change is much more pronounced and easy to read
