Manufacturer Info

Marine Depot was started in 1998 by a self-professed reef geek and pre-med student Ken Wong. Ken envisioned a one-stop shop where customers could find everything they needed, from technical product specifications, reef aquarium information, expert advice on the hobby and friendly one-on-one customer support. Having grown from a one-man crew to being one of the world’s largest suppliers of reef and marine aquarium products, this very core philosophy still lives strong in the Marine Depot culture 20 years later.

Q
Since it appears that this quarantine box is to be placed directly into the aquarium, and therefore aquarium water flows in/out of the box, how does it prevent disease or problems from entering the general aquarium population?
please ready my question.

A
This box is designed to separate new or physically injured individuals from the main population to prevent bullying during acclimation or the healing process. You're correct, it won't prevent disease from trasferring between the quarantined fish and the main population. The best way to prevent disease is to quarantine and treat all new fish in a seperate hospital aquarium. This acclimation box can also be conveniently used to acclimate individuals from the hospital to the main display. Please let us know if you have more questions.

Not the sturdiest construction
REVIEW
Easy to use and mostly assembled. I like how the door stays up when needed. I used it to introduce a new wrasse to my ornery Melanarus wrasse. It does feel a bit delicate and I'm very careful when handling it.

REVIEW
This is an easy to use isolation box. Construction-wise it's a bit fragile. The bars between the doors is thin - I snapped it. Glued it back easily enough, but don't put any pressure on them or the hinges.

REVIEW
For the price its hard to complain, but the sides like to come apart. Could also use some bigger tabs on the suction cups for removal. Also the hanging option wouldn't fit on my marineland 75g rim

The box comes in pieces which is easy to put together. It’s a good size so most fish will fit nicely Inless your getting into show size. Has a divider so you can do 2 fish at the same time. Gave it a 4 start Bc the plastic could be a little more durable after the first couple of uses some of the s...Read More

REVIEW
This is a well made inexpensive product that is perfect for introducing new inhabitants from quarantine. Note that the top now has the same uniform openings as the sides. I purchased for tangs and wrasses, but since I have it I will use on other fish as well.
