MiniMax PRO Desktop Media Reactor (150ML) - AUQA Gadget - Innovative Marine - All-In-One Media Reactor

If you desire the highest water quality but are frustrated with media reactors on the market….Meet the MiniMax Pro.

The MiniMax Pro AIO Media Reactor is a novel approach to optimize chemical and biological filtration for nano & mini marine aquariums. Its’ innovative Patent Pending design eliminates the need for flexible tubes, pvc pipes, ball valves, and unnecessary clutter that are usually associated with typical media reactors. Its ingenious design maximizes performance and offers out of the box responsive flow control, easy maintenance, low power consumption, and the smallest form factor ever built.

The versatile MiniMax Pro is designed to be discreetly hidden behind All-In-One Aquariums or placed directly in sumps.

Responsive Flow Control – Unique dual chamber design, allows for quick and responsive flow control within seconds with a simple turn of knob without the need for ball valves and inlet/outlet pipes.

Efficiency – Utilizes upward flow pattern that requires less flow and lower energy consumption.

Eliminate Messy Maintenance – Internal chamber acts as a removable cartridge that simply slides out of outer chamber and automatically drains water out without the need for tools and time consuming thumb screws to unfasten.

Nano Size – We produced the smallest Nano Reactor (2.3” x 2” x 11.75”) with the integrated features right out the box

No, I would not recommend this.

Pros: Easiest reactor I've ever had to refill.

Cons: Doesn't fit their own tanks and poor design for activated carbon

I'm a big Innovated Marine fan but they failed me on this device. Right out of the box I noticed the clamp was too small to fit on the back of an Innovated Marine 20 gallon tank. How can this be? It's your own tank. Next, I was going to use it for Carbon however, the top sponge won't stay in place on top of the carbon to keep is sandwiched in and keep it from tumbling. The top sponges shoot to the top of the reactor from the water pressure. I ended up having to put 3 times the amount of recommended carbon on to fill it to the top.

Really high hopes but can't really recommend

Cons: Media becomes stuck, waterflow adjustments are cumbersome to make.

I bought the bioreactor for a freshwater/planted 15 gallon aquarium. I use biopellets to help keep health water parameters. I had an issue with the pump getting stuck after 2 weeks of use. Which isn't enough time to have build up accumulate in the propeller. But lately, the media gets stuck in the chamber and will not move, even when the pump is opened to max and the chambers are set for the highest flow. It requires manipulation to get the media to move. You hope to buy gadgets to maintain your aquarium with the expectation of not having to check on it daily to see that it is working. It is why I can not recommend it. It may work better with other medias. I do believe it has helped lower nitrates in the aquarium as I see less algae build up on the glass.

Pros: Easily fits the back sumps of most nanos

Cons: None, out performs larger units

Replaced my HOB Reactor with this little guy.
Performs just as well as my old bulky hang on back reactor..
I would recommend
You do need floss is using GFO as it will creep through the standard sponge.

Great in tank reactor!

Pros: Works well!

Cons: Flow is a bit difficult to dial in.

I love this mini in tank reactor. I'm currently using it for GFO and it works great; you do need a little filter floss when using GFO as the coarse sponge that comes with it allows some through.

Love these for my nuvo 20

Pros: Great reactor

Cons: May have to use own sponges to run gfo

Have 2 of these running in my nuvo 20 and absolutely love them. Have one running gfo and the other running bio pellets. I did have to make my own sponges to run the gfo but other that that I couldn't be happier.
