The Pan World 40PX is a compact, durable, and long-lasting external magnetic drive pump. Compared to submersible pumps, external pumps such as the Pan World 40PX offer higher flow rates and pressure ratings, typically have heavy-duty motors with longer lifespans, and transfer less heat into your aquarium. The Pan World pumps also feature seal-free bearings, an included power cord, and an 18 month full manufacturer warranty for trouble-free use.
Pan World is rapidly becoming a dominant market force in the global pump industry. And with good reason: we make the world`s best magnetically driven pump. Founded and headquartered in Tokyo in 1986 by industry giant Norishige Hirakawa, the Pan World Group currently has divisions in Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and the US. Pan World America began in 2002 on the east coast of the US and has since grown exponentially, expanding to the west coast and adding distributors throughout the Americas, including the US and Puerto Rico, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia and Argentina.

I need to replace the pump on my water changing system. Water will travel horizontally for about 50' with a final 6' being vertical to enter display. Is this the right pump for the job?
I use this pump to move water between sw and rodi drums. It mixes the water for me and will also pump/drain my tank as needed. It does need to stay primed but not an issue with a water station. Flow and head pressure are great with this as well as I can drain and fill a tank about 20 feet away wi...Read More

Solid, trustworthy. I have two of these for my systems with one in use and one as a backup. In 5 years neither has failed. Maybe a little noisey for a lounge but if you are looking for something powerful, robust, dependable and built to last then this is it!

I'm thrilled!... the pump delivers in a big way.... when I built my sump ,my intention was to run a GFO reactor and a Carbon reactor on the excess water from the pump... I have 12'of head and my return plumbing is 3/4" a in sump 2400 GPH pump barely ran the display tank ( about 300 GPH) and a second pump was needed for the reactors.. so after a year of dealing with slow flow and broken impellers I went to an external pump... I didn't want to drill my sump so I made a 1 1/2 " siphon to feed the external pump... it supplies more than enough water flow to run the display tank and both reactors... I've cut back the flow to the display.... return water to the sump via a bypass with plenty to spare.. it start flawlessly each day after shut down for filter sock cleaning...Hide
I'm using this as a basement return for a 90G + 40G sump. With 11' of head on it, I'm getting roughly 550 G/h which is more than it was originally rated for with this head pressure. I'm using this as a basement return for a 90G + 40G sump. With 11' of head on it, I'm getting roughly 550 G/h which is more than it was originally rated for with this head pressure. I will tell you that when I first fired it up, it was LOUD. Now that it's had a few days to break in, it's much quieter and seemingly quieter every day. While I'm not 100% concerned with noise since it is in a fish room in my basement, I am still concerned since that room is adjacent to my theatre room.Hide
I had a 15 year old Iwaki 40rlt which needed replacement. The price difference between the Iwaki repacement and the Pan World equivalent was $100. I opted to try out the Pan World. It was a plug and play set up. Identical dimensions, so I needed no piping changes or fitting changes. The sound level ...Read More
I had a 15 year old Iwaki 40rlt which needed replacement. The price difference between the Iwaki repacement and the Pan World equivalent was $100. I opted to try out the Pan World. It was a plug and play set up. Identical dimensions, so I needed no piping changes or fitting changes. The sound level is the same as the Iwaki, neither better nor worse, so no complaints. Lets see if I get 15 years of 24/7 use out of this pump.Hide
