Great skimmer.

Pros: Great skimmer

Cons: None really

Set this up during my second week of a new tank cycle. Immediately it’s pulling junk out of the water. It’s super quiet and is easy to set up. The one draw back I don’t like is that it kind of leans to the side the pump hangs off of, I cut a piece of pvc and stuck it under the pump to support it up. Not a big deal though, performance out weighs this though.

Best skimmer for the price

Pros: Easy to adjust, runs smooth and quiet, excellent Skimmer.

Cons: nothing

I have been running the 150 INT for 3 month now so I thought I would give my input. I run a 75 gallon display with a 20 long sump.

The skimmer was a little wonky for the first week. It overflowed twice back into the sump. After a little trial and error I got it dialed in just right. Since the first week I haven't adjusted the valve. I empty mine once a month, not because it's full but because the tube gets grimy after the neck tapers to fit into the collection cup. I use a baby bottle cleaner to clean the cup.

One improvement I would like to have would be an easier to clean skimmer body. There is a grate with tiny holes built into the bottom of the skimmer. The underneath section is borderline impossible to clean without the use of chemical. I just leave mine dirty as it really is more of an visual problem. My guess is including a removable bottom would be cost prohibitive. I purchased this skimmer for the price/quality ratio I could afford. I have installed a 90 degree bow at the water outlet to make the outlet soundless because of my Water level. Now it is perfect.

Tried and True

Pros: Quiet, Great Skimate, easy to set up, lasts for a very long time, great quality.

Cons: None

I have had many skimmers over the years. Some way more advanced than reef octopus, some less. This skimmer along with most of their skimmers always have served me well. They stick to basics and keep it simple. Easy to set up, Love Love Love this!

Best Skimmer out there for 120 gal tank

Cons: All I hear from my tank (when the chiller is not ON) is the skimmer.. its loud but it will mix with the tank ambient.

After a long research on what skimmer should I buy for my 120 gallon tank, I decided to go with this reef octopus 150 INT. Why? first the warranty. No one can beat that warranty. The build quality its just awesome.. the pump is the best out there for its size and creates alot of microbubbles to pull out great skimmate. after 2-3months of using it Im really pleased with my purchase!

This skimmer is a beast!! I installed about a month ago and it is running smoothly and correctly. The slim cup has been regularly filling up. The reason for my purchase was adding some fish which require more frequent feeding and increasing bio load. This skimmer definitely can handle the increase. I have a 90 gal reef with 29 gal sump.

Reef Octopus Classic 150

Pros: Well built, well priced, runs silent and is crazy effective.

Cons: None

The Reef Octopus Classic 150 has stripped soooo many organics than the previous skimmer I was running. I run a 150 in my reef system as well and a lot has changed in the past 2 years. Incredible item, incredible site and service through marine depot. I couldn't be happier!

Great Product

I recently purchased this skimmer for my 80 Gallon mixed reef setup. It was simple to assemble and get hooked up in my sump. It is very well constructed and packaged. I haven't even completed the break in period and it's already pulling gunk out of the water.
