Aquarium Wood

Aquarium wood comes in many different styles and sizes. The most popular choice is fish tank driftwood, with its thick, sweeping branches and deep colors. Driftwood is also an integral part of a dark water tank. Driftwood releases tannins, which promote the soft acidic water some fish love.

Another great fish tank wood is spider wood, which is called such for its thin, wrangled branches that look incredible mixed with java fern or moss. Spider wood aquarium use is less complicated than driftwood, because spider wood releases fewer tannins. However, spider wood for sale ships dry; it must be soaked for a week before it will sink.
