With a host of features including a self-priming pump, dual water intake, adjustable flow, maintenance monitor, and a filter basket that holds any kind of filtration media - and more of it - Tidal Power Filters are hang on back filters designed to deliver the highest water quality possible with maximum versatility and ease of use.

Made in Italy by Sicce!

Key Features
  • Large Capacity: design of the large filter basket allow for any type of Seachem filter media, which can be interchanged and placed in custom configurations.
  • Effective Water Flow: the Tidal Power Filter system is designed for easy and convenient maintenance. The filter media basket is designed to hold the largest volume of filter media versus other brands and prevents any water by-pass around the filter media.
  • Dual Water Intakes: the dual water intake feature will capture water from just below the surface, where excreted fish oils accumulates, and deeper in the tank removing floating debris.
  • Maintenance Monitor: a monitor reminds you when to clean the filter.
  • Water Diversion Chanel: in the event of a clog, overflow goes back into your aquarium.
  • Precise Leveling Device: allows you to adjust the filter positioning.
  • Flow Regulation: allows you to fully adjust the performance to a specific aquarium volume, type, or provide an environment for fish which prefer more or less water movement for fish which prefer more or less water movement or oxygen. This features offers up to 80% reduction of maximum flow intake while making continuous full use of the filter monitor. When reduced intake flows are selected, the refiltration grid allows for water to re-circulate throught the filter media to maximize filtration performance through increased contact time.

Loud!

Pros: Not as bulky like most HOB, skimmer open and close option is neat, room for lots of media

Cons: Super loud, sounds like a truck engine!

This is a great site, My filter showed up faster than I though but unfortunately my filter isn’t what people claim to be. I must have gotten a bad one. I’ve had many different kinds of hang on back filters in the last couple of years. I’ve been searching for a tolerable quiet filter. I decided to try this because I’ve read many good reviews on it. Of course, mine was loud! After the first day I couldn’t handle the noise so I put Vaseline on the Impeller In hopes that it would silence it a bit and nothing! Another possible issue is that my filter has been running in a heavy stocked aquarium for five days now and the sponge + filter floss is clean as a whistle which means it’s probably not filtering properly. Hope you have better luck with it.

First in class

Pros: Quiet, effective, adjustable, filter media versatility, price

We now have two Tidal 55s one each on 40g and 38g freshwater tanks. The Tidal units top the two other similar units they replaced. They are quieter, adjustable and allow customization of filter media. They are easy to clean and maintain.

Haven’t used yet

Everything came nicely securely packed and in working order. The dust from the media was all over everything, but not a big deal, just wiped it all off. Haven’t had a chance to actually use yet though as this is part of the equipment for me starting a new tank, but the actual tank I am wanting has been out of stock for some time with and “indefinite” return date. Seems like it will be easy to use and clean though, can’t complain about the looks or packaging...

Not good at all

Pros: Sicce pump, enough space inside..

Cons: Really bad skimmer surface..really bad

The filter itself isnt bad, its enough quiet and desent room inside...the skimmer surface is a joke... make nothing cleaning the surface...the pump , sicce pump are good, reliable and long lasting , but talking about "" silent "" im running right now a few sicce pump, reactors, return and skimmer aplication, never are silent...
I dont like this filter, spent 54$ , and no worst the money.....

Awesome filter

Pros: Not too pricey, surface skimmer, quiet

Cons: None

This filter is the best HOB I've ever owned. I e had many aquaclear type filters which are great, the tidal blows them away. The surface skimmer is great, it's quiet and it has room for any media that you want to use. For a small aquarium this is the best filter you can get.

Good bang for buck

Pros: Powerful, quiet, self priming

Cons: Water bypasses media

This filter seems very powerful and works well but is somewhat fiddly when it comes to keeping the water from bypassing the media.

Quarantine Tank Filter

Pros: Self priming, flow control, serviceability, quiet.

Cons: None yet, system has been running for 2 month.

I use this filter on a 10g quarantine tank system. I run copper in my qt so this filter will only be used on this system. The basket allows for me to used bonded filter pads, biological media of my choice and carbon when I ready to filter out the copper.

The filter canister is easy to remove and clean.

The submerged self priming pump may be the best feature in my opinion.

I used the adjustable flow dial for feedings and night time reduced flow. (The tank has a Nano Koralia powerhead also).

The filter is extremely quiet. My experience is that the Tidal 75 and Tidal 110 are progressively louder than the 55. I have not run the 35.
