Free Shipping For Orders $29+

Marine Depot offers FREE economy shipping for most products when you spend $29 or more! Your order will be delivered 1-7 business days after it ships out. Economy shipping methods include UPS Ground, USPS First Class, and/or SurePost. You can also upgrade your shipping to UPS Ground which speeds delivery to 1-5 business days. A shipping upgrade is $2.99 for orders under 20 lbs, $3.99 for orders 21-40 lbs, and $4.99 for orders over 41 lbs. Orders placed before 10:30 am PST Monday-Friday are shipped the same day. Free shipping is only available within the contiguous United States. Frozen foods, live foods, and items shipped directly from the manufacturer do not qualify for this special offer.

Free Upgraded Shipping For Orders $250+

Most orders over $250 qualify for FREE upgraded shipping! Your order will be delivered 1-5 business days after it ships out. Thanks to Marine Depot’s two strategically located warehouses in Nevada and Georgia, over 90% of shoppers receive their orders within 2 business using this level of service (UPS Ground). Orders placed before 10:30 am PST Monday-Friday are shipped the same day. Free shipping is only available within the contiguous United States. Frozen foods, live foods, and items shipped directly from the manufacturer do not qualify for this special offer.

$2.99 Economy Shipping For Orders Under $29

Most orders under $29 ship for only $2.99 using a mix of economy shipping methods including UPS Ground, USPS First Class, and/or SurePost. Your order will be delivered in 1-7 business days after it ships out. Orders placed before 10:30 am PST Monday-Friday are shipped the same day. Our $2.99 flat rate shipping is only available within the contiguous United States. Frozen foods, live foods, and items shipped directly from the manufacturer do not qualify for $2.99 flat rate shipping.

Expedited Shipping Options

Expedited shipping services are also available for most products should you require your items faster. Cost will vary by location and an accurate shipping quote will be provided for you during checkout. The following expedited services are available:

  • 2 Day Expedited
  • 1 Day Overnight
  • 1 Day Priority Overnight (est. Delivery by 10:30AM)

About 1% of items require special shipping or handling and do not qualify for flat rate or free shipping. These include heavy and/or large items that require shipping by freight and live and frozen foods that require expedited shipping or special packaging. Here’s more info:

  • Live foods are sent via Two-Day Shipping to your address to ensure they arrive alive (and delicious!).
  • Live plants are shipped for a low flat rate of $19.99 (minimum 6 plants). Buy 12+ plants and shipping is free (maximum 24 plants). If you want more than 24 plants, just place another order.
  • Frozen foods are shipped for a low flat rate of $19.99, so stock up and save! They will be delivered to your doorstep in 1-3 business days. A signature is not required for delivery.
  • Some of our larger (and dare we say more luxurious!) aquariums and stands (less than 20 total as of December 2016) have a shipping surcharge of $150.

We don’t hide these Special Handling fees from you—you’ll see them plainly listed on products and during the checkout process. If you have any questions, contact us!

Nearly every item we sell qualifies for FREE economy shipping in the contiguous United States when you spend $29+ with a few exceptions as detailed above in the Special Handling section.

When you spend $250+ we’ll upgrade your order to UPS Ground FREE. Over 90% of Marine Depot shoppers receive orders within 2 business days with UPS Ground so it’s the best bang for your buck.

Terms and Exclusions
  • Offer valid only on orders shipping within the contiguous United States. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam or other US Territories do not qualify for this promotion.
  • This promotion does not apply to items requiring expedited shipping, such as refrigerated products, frozen, or live products.
  • About 1% of items we sell do not qualify for free shipping. These include some heavy and/or large aquariums, stands, and chillers, plus live and frozen foods.
  • Shipping charges for returned merchandise is non-refundable. Please read our return policy for more information.
  • Price matched (Low Price Guarantee) or discounted orders do NOT qualify for our free shipping promotion.

Special handling charges (when applicable) are noted on individual product pages and also displayed in the MarineDepot.com shopping cart. Special handling is a surcharge applied when orders contain heavy or large merchandise. As of April 2018, only 23 products have these heavy item surcharges. They fall into the following categories: aquariums, stands, chillers, sumps, and lighting. Special handling costs are not waived during MarineDepot.com FREE shipping promotions. These charges are in addition to any normal shipping costs you may incur.

Mix-and-match up to 24 plants per order (minimum 6). Orders of 12 plants or more SHIP FREE! Plants are shipped every Monday and Tuesday (excluding holidays) and delivered 1-3 days later. We offer bulk discounts, too! Regularly $12.99 per plant, buy 12+ and pay $11.99 each or 18+ and pay $10.99 each. Each plant is individually sealed inside its own 2 ¾" cup. The shipping cut-off is Tuesday at 10 am PST (1 pm EST). Orders received after 10 am PST on Tuesday will be shipped the following week. Contiguous US only.

Live foods are shipped directly from the aquaculture facility to your door. Live foods are shipped Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The shipping cut-off is Wednesday at 10 am PST (1 pm EST). Orders received after 10 am PST on Tuesday will be shipped the following week. Contiguous US only.

Online orders placed before 10:30 AM PST Monday thru Friday are generally processed and shipped the same day. Online orders received after 10:30 AM PST will usually be processed the next business day. Backordered, drop shipped, custom-made and/or special ordered merchandise may take slightly longer to ship out. In the event of such a delay, a message will be prompted and displayed in your online shopping cart to alert your attention to any possible hold-up. Marine Depot ships to the contiguous United States via UPS Ground and offers 2-Day or Overnight service via FedEx Air. Orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico are sent via USPS and may not include refrigerated/frozen merchandise or aquariums. APO and FPO orders are also shipped via USPS. Please note that Marine Depot does not ship to P.O. Boxes and hotels. Orders sent via USPS to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico and APO/FPO addresses are not shipped out every day. Since the volume of orders shipped to these destinations is less than the contiguous United States, we normally mail them out every 7-10 days

Marine Depot orders are generally delivered Monday through Friday. However, for a nominal fee, you may have your order delivered on Saturday. Saturday delivery is only available upon request so please contact us at 1-714-385-0080 to make arrangements.

Frozen foods are delivered 1-3 business days from the day your order ships. Frozen foods are shipped every Monday and Tuesday. Shipping cut-off is Tuesday at 10 am PST (1 pm EST). Orders received after 10 am PST on Tuesday will be shipped the following week. Shipping and handling is a $19.99 flat-rate charge so you can order as much or as little as you like. Back-order items will be shipped via ground service at no additional cost. Shipping upgrades for the back-order items are available for an extra fee. All the ETA time frames listed on the product pages are only estimates and may be subject to change. This includes any estimates or updates given by the Marine Depot customer service team. Frozen foods cannot be backordered and must be shipped complete.

If the shipment is refused or marked "returned to shipper" by UPS, we will receive the packages back then issue a credit to the customer minus a 25% restocking fee. If not all items are refused, then only the items received back will be credited. Frozen foods and live orders are only fully covered on the first delivery attempt. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the receipt of the package on the day of delivery.

UPS or FedEx sends tracking information to you via email. On the day that your order is scheduled for delivery, you can leave a note on the door instructing the driver to leave the package without obtaining a signature. Please note that this does depend on the specific driver and some will not leave the package. You may also contact your local UPS or FedEx office to file a signature waiver for all packages delivered to your home.

Orders are shipped Monday through Friday. We send shipping confirmation emails with tracking numbers in the evening for all orders we've shipped that day. Please note your package(s) may not be immediately trackable. Tracking information will be updated once the shipping carrier has scanned your package(s) into their system. Once the shipping carrier has scanned your packages, you will be able to track them online and they should be delivered within the shipping time frame you selected. If you are unable to track an order, please try again later that evening or the following business day. If you still experience difficulty, give us a call at 1-714-385-0080 and we will be happy to assist you.

Check the amount of tracking numbers you should have received. Verify you have received all boxes and checked all packing material for small items. Check your invoice to verify that the item missing is not on back-order. Marine Depot will add a note on your invoice next to the item that is back-ordered to advise you of the back ordered item.

Sometimes a package gets separated from its order and does not get scanned by FedEx or UPS right away. Either way, give it a week to see if all the items on your order arrive. If not, give us a call and we will start a tracer with FedEx or UPS for the lost package.

If your merchandise arrives damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of arrival. All damage claims must be filed with your carrier. We are more than happy to provide you with full assistance in this unlikely event. Please note that orders cannot be returned, cancelled, or rejected due to shipping delays unless express service was requested at the time of ordering.

If a package is damaged by UPS, FedEx, Airborne Express, or DHL, Marine Depot will file the claim with the carrier.

If a package is damaged via USPS, the customer will file the claim with the carrier. Marine Depot explicitly recommends against using USPS as a carrier due to the high difficulty, complexity, and variation in the claims process.

International orders are processed and shipped a bit differently than orders sent within the contiguous United States. Please reference the shipping table below and continue reading afterward for terms, conditions and general things to keep in mind.

Orders not shipped within the contiguous United States—the 48 U.S. states on the North American continent south of Canada plus the District of Columbia—are considered international orders. International orders are not eligible for MarineDepot.com's free shipping promotion and additional surcharges may apply. It is important to note that not all products we carry can be shipped internationally. Aquariums, light bulbs, lamps, quartz sleeves and refrigerated/frozen foods cannot be shipped outside the United States. We apologize for any inconvenience.

International customers may purchase from MarineDepot.com using Visa, MasterCard, American Express Discover and PayPal for orders up to $1000. Any brokerage fees, tariffs and/or taxes will be billed to you directly by the shipping courier. International customers placing their first order with us must fax or email a copy of the front and back of their credit card along with a copy of a photo ID that has the billing address printed on it. This is a precautionary measure to protect you and our company from fraudulent activity.

International customers must use the same billing and shipping address. If you are an international customer and would like your order sent to an alternate address, you must first contact your credit card company and request that they add the alternate shipping address to their records or you can pre-pay for the order using PayPal or a bank wire transfer. The shipping address on your PayPal account must match the shipping address in order for us to ship internationally. All first-time international orders over $1000 must be paid via bank wire transfer. We will email you the wire transfer information after you've placed the order.

Drop-ship and special ordered merchandise can require an additional 3-4 weeks for delivery. Overweight and/or oversized merchandise may be subject to additional shipping charges. Some products are available in 220/240V configurations; please contact us for pricing and details.

Customers are solely responsible for any shipping charges incurred when sending back defective merchandise including but not limited to brokerage fees, taxes and tariffs. Warranties for some products are handled directly by the manufacturer. Please click here for details.

NOTE: Please contact your country's Customs Department for current regulations regarding the importation of the items you intend to order. Some countries require you to obtain a permit before importing certain products, such as foods, additives and test kits. All orders and portions thereof returned to MarineDepot.com will be considered refused packages and automatically assessed a 25% restocking fee.
