Tunze NanoStream 6040 Controllable Pump (6040.000)

Stream Different! New design allows for discrete placement behind rockwork, quiet operation and sleek compact design.

Thanks to the special flow deflector and magnet holder, the wide waterjet is three-dimensionally adjustable at the pump outlet. Through the Silence Holder, the pump does not touch the aquarium glass so noise from vibration is eliminated; making it one of the quietest pumps available in the market.

The Turbelle Nanostream 6040 electronic WIDE FLOW is Tunze`s smallest speed-controlled circulation pump with an extra-low 12V safety voltage. It also features a Fish Care Function that triggers a revolution of the propeller every 20 seconds when the pump is in standstill. It can be controlled with the 7095, 7096 and 7097 controller, as well as the 7092 Wavecontroller.

  • For aquariums from 20 to 500 liters (5 to 132 USgal.)
  • Flow Rate = 200 to 4500l/h (53 to 1190 USgal./h) with Turbelle® Controller
  • Power consumption = 1.5 – 13W
  • Power supply unit: 100V/240V (50-60Hz)
  • Cable length: 3m (118 in.)

Good for the price

Pros: moves water well and half the price of MP10

Cons: not as good as MP10.

Using it in a 20 gallon nano and it works. half the price of a MP10 but i cant seem to get a good flow in my tank. Its mainly to strong of a flow.

Pros: Small,Powerful,Energy Efficient

Despite it's itty bitty footprint this pump is can seriously disperse water like no other best of all it can be hidden in a corner or behind the rock work.

Great pump just one flaw.

Pros: quiet, control, price.

Cons: no guard on the outlet

I have a 6040 running for around 6 months now. The only real criticism I can level at it is it needs a guard on the outlet as a black sea cucumber managed to get shredded in it but fortunately it does not seem to have affected the tank adversely. A simple guard with 3 bars would have prevented this happening, Why Tunze decided to omit this guard is a mystery.

Really Nice Pump

The pump is easy to setup and get running. I am still figuring out all the options this has, but so far I am impressed with the power it packs. I am using it on a 30 gallon biotope reef aquarium, and I have it on pretty low settings; plenty more power for a larger system. Though the pump is not very noisy, there is still a low hum that can be heard while in operation (which is expected). Overall, I really like this pump and strongly recommend it!

powerful little pump

Im using this in my 10gal. nano reef. I have it on the lower end of the power settings, so this pump would work just fine on a larger aquarium.

Easy set up was up and running in15 min. As far as a fish guard it does not need one. It is designed that if the slightest blockage happens it will shut off, testing this ,i put my pinky slightly in on the pulse cycle, and the propeller shut it down till it was cleared then started up in 20 sec. Once again Tunze has created another Great pump with great control and very quiet. The tank is 4 feet from my bed so quiet is important.

Big punch in a small package

Superb quality as you would expect from Tunze. The wave feature is very good especially for such a small pump. The flow is wide and very good. Although its not as loud as a MP10 it is however not silent especially at 100% on pulse mode. The flow deflector is not adjustable while pump is installed the tank. You have to remove pump and set the deflector to its desired position. Also the design of the outlet does not incorporate a snail guard so it's possible they could get in and destroy the impeller. Even with these issues I'm still giving it 4 stars due to quality, lots of flow for size, great wave mode and price is very good compared to the MP10.
