The PhosBan Reactor150™ is designed with the upflow principle to achieve the most efficient use of PhosBan™ or other chemical filter media. By pushing water from the bottom upward through a dispersion plate, it forces an even distribution of water through the media.

The Phosban Reactor 150™ has become a staple amongst most aquarists who keep SPS corals. So much so that you often see Phosban used interchangeably with the term GFO or Granular Ferric Oxide. Includes ball valve for regulating flow, and flexible connection fittings that rotate 180 degrees to allow a perfect custom fit to your installation. The threaded lid design makes servicing quick and easy. One reactor for aquariums up to 150 gallons.

Technical Specifications

Great Reactor

Extremely easy to setup, use and take apart to clean. I bought some plastic clamps and used them on the unit where your tubing connects just to make sure they are on there tight.

CO2 Scrubber

Pros: Easy setup and refill

I’ve been using this reactor along with Two Little Fishies CO2 scrubbing media to help remove CO2 for the air through my Skimmer. This has made a significant difference in my pH levels since my tank is in our family room where my family spends most of their time. High CO2 means drops in pH. Very happy with this product!

Good reactor

Pros: good reactor for the money, complete without pump, kept nitrates in check on my 60

Cons: cheap rubber elbows scare me as a leak could occur. But it is easily mitigated.

The reactor, for the money, is good. The only complaint I have are the rubber 90 degree elbows. They seem like they could eventually crack and cause leaks. I ran my tubing right to the barbs without the rubber elbows. The reactor kit is complete with zip ties, hose clamp, and a valve to adjust flow thru the media. The reactor can be mounted internally in the sump or external. For those of you without any space to really spare, this is an option.

Nice Reactor

This is a very simple and easy reactor to set-up and use. I have not had a problem with the unit in any way. Reactor works well and no channeling seen. Noticed a drop in algae growing on the side of the tank after reactor was put into service. For an inexpensive purchase compared to some of the more elaborate reactors. Good buy for my system.
