Utricularia graminifolia is an elegant, light green foreground plant. In aquaria this plant needs medium light to gradually produce a thick but very short carpet. Utricularia has a few unique characteristics: it is a carnivorous plant and produces special bladder traps to capture passing microorganisms. Fish and shrimps are perfectly safe, however.

Yes, I would recommend this.
The plant grew completely around the gel to the point where you couldn’t see the gel any more. It made it very difficult to separate. The more you try to rinse out the gel the more it just falls apart into a million little hairs, and will be useable. It will not directly stay on the substrate. It floats, so I guess it’s better to tie to a rock, or shove in a gap between rocks.
